How to change headlight HID bulb / change beam pattern on Range Rover Sport 2005-09 

Please note that the ignitor cable pops out automatically when you detach the ignitor (as in the video) which I assume must be a saftey feature to prevent an electric shock. Also, if you connect the ignitor cable to the ignitor before screwing it back in, that white collar turns again and it still wont line up properly. So, when you screw the ignitor back in, *connect the ignitor cable last*.

Thank you for your time making the video, my local Range Rover garage wanted £385 for changing a bulb. With both your videos (taking light unit out and changing the bulbs) I have upgrade both the dip and main beam bulbs in both lights in 20 minutes.

This was so helpful. Your videos saved me a trip to the mechanic. I was always under the impression that changing the bulbs was difficult. Those ballast assemblies are tempermental as you illustrated..... Thank you Sir.

Thank you very much for doing this. This was exactly the problem i was facing. But all sorted out now. There is one more thing i would like to mention and its about the cable connected to the ignitor. You dont need to pull on the ignitor cable, it pops out when you unscrew the ignitor. The cable also has a locking mechanism. Also note that you always have to insert the cable after screwing the ignitor as it locks the white circular ring inside. Thanks again for doing this video as not many people know about this trick and i was struggling with it real bad.

Thanks for the upload. I had a problem getting that white ring in place, but i took the metal shell off the igniter and was able to move it easily. I wasn't sure the light was out because it would sometimes come on, so I was afraid it was an electrical issue, but everything is working all right after changing the bulb. Bulbs were a bit expensive though.

Thank you for the very informative and comprehensive video. I have a 2006 Range Rover Sport and the right front turn signal isn't blinking. The sound is very quick as opposed a normal working turn signal. We were told that is was far more complicated than just replacing the turn signal bulb. I would like to get your opinion. This is the video I've been looking for. Now, can someone snake a video showing how to replace these damned HID bulbs on a 2011 Honda CR-Z? The right-hand side was far more do-able than the left -hand side, which is almost impossible.

If I wanted to add 360° LED bulbs to the main beam projector housing, how would I power the bulbs as I’m guessing the igniter pack wouldn’t power the LED bulb?

This is a great video. My only issue is that my igniter is different than the one you have on yours. The bulb is connected directly to it like the LR2 style. I spent a good hour or so trying to remove the bulb from the igniter with no success. Is that style only sold with the bulb attached?

I'm in the USA My beams are dipped like you showed when you explained the lever to straighten it out. Butt he problem is, neither of my headlights have th lever. I looked all over the assembly but couldn't find anything resembling a lever and I watched that part of th video atleast 5 times. Again, the beam is dipped/slanted like you've shown and when I stick my finger in there, I can move the beam plate to make it straight but it seems to be spring loaded and there is no lever to move it I to place. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks from Michigan!

Important ! Cable goes out because unlock turn have mecanism that pop out cable. To instal ignitor you must leave cable unconnected because same mecanism turn brown ring so that it don't align with bulb notch. So in installing step leave cable out and put ignitor back and then plug cable

My 2008 RRS HSE (North America model) has the HID Headlamps (non adaptive) and the beam pattern shutter does not have the adjustment lever. It’s fixed in the stepped setting. I hate the beam pattern as it’s not a flat pattern but has a terrible / slanted step in the pattern. Please help if you know how to get the internal shutter to go flat.

Do You know if GB headlights can be adjusted to European standards? Any way to shift it a bit, as GB light are set for riding on the left side of the road and it’s not proper for EU roads unfortunately (during police inspection)

My right side headlight wasn't working so replaced the bulb, however now i have the problem that it still doesn't work and now the indicator doesn't either, error on the dash is the Adaptive front lighting system warning light flashing, and also now when pressing the horn it doesn't work and the display reads Bonnet Open, even though it's not. Any ideas??! Thanks!

When I start the Range Rover the headlights aim down then up. But the right headlight doesn’t aim up it just stays down. So the left side is aiming straight while the right side is aiming down. They are not level. How do I make the right headlight aim up like the left one. Please help.
