I’m basically one armed, and it is a challenge to add split rings and hooks, but doable, everyone needs to develop a effective and efficient routine, and take your time with no distractions!

Trailing the new hook behind the old hook is a new one for me. Great tip……..BTW…….hackers and scammers belong in the chum bucket. Lol

One thing I do is make sure I have the same weight hook to replace. I sometimes have a lure with a special paint and I will take the hooks off the same New lure. Because you can't always find the same size and weight hooks.

Maybe I am overly cautious, but I use treble hook covers when I change out the split ring or hook.

I make lures for family and friends and give them away. Before installing the hooks, I put a plastic earring backer over each hook point. This protects me and the lure while installing the hook and I can safely transport the lure (even in a pocket) and hand it to the recipient without worrying about anyone being snagged.

I only keep hooks on the lures I'm using for the day plus I'm taking out some of the fear factor by changing over to in line single hooks most of the time.
