Pro tip- use a small piece of tape and wrap around the bulb then pull the tape. Messed around for like 10 minutes trying to get them out with my finger. With the tape it took me like 5 seconds

Great for getting the cover off. Thank you because I nodoubtly would have broken it. Mine however doesn't have a bulb like this

Little tip: if you can't pull it out, cover with papertowel piece and squeeze pop it with a needle nose pliers. Then grab remaining tab and pull down. I messed around for 15+ minutes trying to remove them with fingers etc. So I just broke them out. It was fast and if covered won't explode all over.

If your truck has the led map lights look for another video this will not work nor give you access to the led bulbs. The led bulbs are far more complicated to remove which is why Dodge will change the entire overhead console instead of just the led bulbs. There is a video on YT showing how to change the led map lights/bulbs.

I have a '14 Longhorn. Bad news. No bulb. It's an LED assembly. I did manage to pry the shiny cover off. It covers a circuit board in a clear mold. My problem looks like a burned microchip. Technology is great until it's not. 😡😡😡

Anyone having problems with getting the bulbs out, I used black tape, wrapped it in a U shape around the bulb as best I could. Trying to tape the as far down the small part as you can. Wrap it around twice. Hold the tape from sliding off the bulb as you pull the tail, bulb should pop out. I had a bitch of a time until I did that. 2 tries got it out!

Thanks for the heads up on these non led map lights, I replaced my bulbs with LED REPLACEMENT BULBS LOVE THAT DAY LIGHT! You have to take off the entire trim plate, disconnect the wire harness that is red up there, and then you have access. But make sure you test it before you put it back up to make sure they are both working

Good, because your video is not accurate to my 2017 Ram Laramie 1500. There is no peanut bulb in the socket. Mine is rectangular and looks led. So, your info isn't accurate for all 2009-2018 Ram trucks. Thanks for the video though.

+bigringjess Most base models are pretty much the same. Some of the special editions, like the Laramie might have slight quirks that separate them from most Rams on the road. We'll keep a note for a future video once we get our hands on a Laramie model. Thanks for sharing!

Been working on the first bulb for 15 minutes! It aint coming out. My fingers are too fat! I have MarsAuto 194 LED bulbs to replace them with but the boogers must be glued in the sockets!

Take small needle nose pliers and bust the bulb. Cover it first with like a paper towel so the particles don't explode all over. Then you grab the inserted tab piece remaining and pull it down. That's what I did. Because I couldn't get them out any other way at the time.
