A good guide. But note the slight compression twist on the old oil filter cartridge when removed. This can be avoided by lubing the small O-ring on the neck of the replacement cartridge to ensure it fully inserts into the housing well, as the new cartridge and plastic cap are screwed back down by hand. You should be able to screw it all the way down by hand, with a final torque at the end. If not, something is not properly fitted and the cartridge will be compressed.

Do mechanics all need music to do a half hour job these days. I use a new drain plug each time. What torque settings for the plastic cap and for the plug?
