You can remove the filter from the top without to much trouble. AND if you remove the 0 ring from the oil filler cap and wrap electrical tape to the top you can actually remove the cap without any tools.
@@ELJEFEEEE Mine was also tight as hell. Had to purchase a filter tool thet fits on the bottom and the more you twist makes it tork down tighter. I had several problems of things to tight to remove.
I believe they add red wax so they know if you broke the oil drain plug loose after you leave... too many people have sued Jiffy Lube for killing their "already dead" engine by claiming the tech didn't tighten drain plug. If they did put Lock-tite on threads they are absolute idiots.
Because it’s on a slant. You could probably fill it half way and be fine, but the slanted mounting position would cause a lot oil to spill if it was pre filled too much.
Yeah it's absolutely absurd the design of where they put the filter. Had it been in a position where you put the filter back in from the bottom, it would be way less of an issue. But situations like this will just have you at the very least put oil on the seal.
You can take it to your local auto parts store such as advance auto parts, autozone, or oreilly auto parts and they will recycle it. Or save up and list in on fb for free. Some people have used oil burners to heat their shops and such.
Does jacking up the vehicle gain more accessible room for your arm to remove the filter??? On my renegade modle there's no room to go from under the jeep. And that angle from the top with the power steering lines make it a hassle to go from the top. My arm doesn't fit while the jeeps on the ground and the top side is a pain,...
I’m not sure. I’m guessing there is not a Chrysler dealership near you. Maybe you can contact a Jeep dealer here in the USA and have them cut and mail you a key based on the VIN number. Good luck to you.
