I always think that Honda engineers know that owners like to work on their cars, and I feel that they design their products with the DIY'er in mind. One of the last few companies to keep things relatively simple.

Why couldn't they make a oil drain access through the cover lol. To be this process is similar on a lot of cars. BMW doesn't get any more complicated. Hondas are awesome though.

Such an amazing video. Will definitely be coming back to check it out when I get my Civic. 2 Questions 1. What's the torque spec for the oil drain plug? 2. How can you tell on the dipstick if the oil is full? On most cars the oil needs to be between the 2 holes, but it wasn't and you said it was okay
@Cargorage
@Cargorage 2 года назад
Thanks i appreciate. The torque spec for the drain bolt plug is 30ftlbs. There are 2 holes in the dipstick, so the upper holes is the maximum level, when i added 4.3L it was just slightly above the upper hole so to compensate the oil that goes in the oil filter. And when u start the car for a few seconds and turn it off. Then go check the level again, and it should just be on maximum level point. Allright cheerz!

I have been doing my oil change for a very long time. On my daughter 2022 Honda Civic 2022 Touring It took over 4 hours. All but one Phillip screws came off without a hitch. It just kept on turning and turning. Finally, I had my daughter hold the undercover up while I turn the screw. It finally pop loose. Working on this problem took over 2 hours. The next problem was the oil filter. I was able to remove it without any problems. The replacement filter took a long time to screw on. I thought maybe I bought the wrong one. So, I tried to screw back the original filter back, that also wasn't going in. Eventually the one I bought was screwed on.
