Thanks for the video, couldn't have done it without you. It still took quite awhile with the biggest problem being getting my hands in the confined spaces while also being able to see what I was doing. I had to take the battery out to do the driver's side and had to use a screwdriver to pry out the boot (being careful not to damage it). Pulling on the tabs just didn't work. IN any case, thanks again.
Very helpful! The guys at the garage couldn't even figure this out with out taking the bumper off of my 03 rsx. Watched your video and did it myself! Thanks again!
That was great. I was out there for 30 minutes figuring out how to get at it. Watched the video, presto, done 5 minutes. Thanks for taking the time to post.
This video helped me chang the headlight in my 2006 RSX typeS. Thanks for the post! I have skinny arms, long, piano fingers, and AND I'm left-handed, and it was still a pain in the ass. I don't see how a right-handed manly man with manly arms and thick, manly fingers could possibly do it. They must keep a skinny guy at the dealership just for headlights?
thank you so much for this video it really helped us in changing our headlight, even the mechanic at NAPA did not know how to change it. :) after watching your video it took my mother and I 10 min to take the light bulb out and we did get the new one in. again thank you. leanne
Thanks for the video. Watched it just so I have an idea. Took me about 15 mins to change it out both lights. The part that took the longest was trying to move my hand around in the small spaces. Recommend doing this not right after you come back from the store. Engine hot, but you can still do it. Sweating my ass off.
Changed 2003 RSX drivers side bulb. Video was a help especially with the wire clip. I removed the windshield fill tube and electrical coupling up against headlight cover. This will give you some visibility to the bulb holder. Persistence on each step is needed because each step has it difficulties.
Great video, thanks for posting. Saved me a lot of time and money. Took about 10-15 minutes to take out the old bulb and replace on the passenger side. Thanks, man!
Didn't realize so many people had issues with this. I've only owned my RSX for two months and changed my bulbs in less than 15mins in the dark at 3 am using my phone light. Had to be done though.
Your removal tips went like clockwork, on my '04 passenger-side bulb, but I'm stuck, trying to get that stupid, f***ing, little retainer spring back on. ANYONE... PLEASE HELP!!!
Bro I can't put this spring shit back on either I'm so pissed. Is it really necessary to have on? Like isn't the rubber thing gonna keep it in place !?
Thanks man! Quick and simple demonstration helped me change my bulb out in a matter of minutes, the tricky part is getting the clap hooked back on but it's not all that hard :)
Looks like he unscrewed and tilted out the entire headlight assembly "slightly out" (on passenger side). When I checked my 2003 rsx, there is NO ROOM to put my normal-sized man hand (can barely unplug the power)
I wasn't able to do this - maybe it was big hands. Anyway, I think all owners of this rsx should contact acura and demand that the guy who designed this unmaintainable headlight be sterilized so he can't reproduce and design more impractical perverse procedures to change a light bulb. How many guys does it take to change a light bulb? How many and how much time does it take to have to pull a bumper to change a damn light?
When you find 'the guy', I'd LOVE to participate in his sterilization... with my steel-toed boot!!! That little f***ing retainer spring is kicking my ass, not to mention having drawn blood from my (also big) hand!!!
Could you help me please the rsx I bought does not have the thing you have in the palm of your hand at 2:15, what is that part called so that I could order it online? I have to drive my car from when it’s lit out and get home before it gets dark out because I can’t find that piece
I changed my low beam bulb but yet it doesn't work, my high beam works fine. I checked the module box and changed the right side 20A and still doesn't work, then I tried replacing the relay and still doesn't work..
good video, did both of my friend's for them in like 15 mins. side note, as a toyota owner, acura got some dumbass headlight assemblies. whotf installs a permanent paper clip?!
For those having the light bulb burning a couple of times, first don't use the bulbs with blue coating on them, use transparent one. Second: the light bulb goes in a small socket with a couple of tabs, the socket with a white potting in the middle, the one he is holding at 1:53, if you see discoloration of the white potting that is because the connection between the metal of the tabs and the light bulb is not very good, causing heating and helping the light burn out, you either need to buy a new socket that makes better contact with the bulb or bend the metal that goes into contact with the bulb so that it makes better contact. Bend the metal of the tab that is discolored off course. Good luck, by the way, I'd love to punch the %^%$^$% who designed this area of the RSX ! like for F sake ppl need to change the bulb from time to time !
This is the second time I'm having to change a headlight and last time was a nightmare. There really isn't a trick to it I dont think you just have to struggle/suffer in frustration...
