Great video. Took me about 2.5 hours to do it, very simple. Just make sure to replace the bump stop and vibration damping (Sachs 900 180).

Torque wrench not needed
@Barrygee

I changed mine but now something is rattling at the back of the car…everything is done up tight so i have no idea whats causing it but its only started since i changed shock absorbers

It’s difficult to say anything without proper diagnostics; we recommend contacting a service center.

@@autodocuk i figured it out, i had tightened the top nuts up far too much and compressed the rubber mounts. I loosened them off a bit and the rattle has gone away. There really should be some sort of guideline for tightening them, I assumed they out to be very tight but they clearly shouldn’t be.

In practice it is important to use a torque wrench and keep the appropriate tightening torques to avoid undesirable consequences.
@Barrygee
@Barrygee 3 месяца назад
@@autodocuk well i quite agree but since there are no torque settings given in the instructions for the shock absorbers nor do you suggest any torque settings in your videos its hard to know what torque to use. It’s also not so easy to use a torque wrench as you need to grip the top of the strut to prevent it turning whilst tightening, therefore you can’t use a conventional socket and torque wrench and have to use a spanner. Please explain how to measure torque while fitting a rear shock absorber such as this.
