HOW TO: Change Rockshox Fork Travel // COMPLETE Tutorial 

Definitely one of the best, straight to the point, and most articulate bike tutorials I've ever watched, thank you! Going to do this tonight on my Lyrik. EDIT: THE 2016+ DebonAir springs DO NOT FIT 2023 Lyriks. They fit, technically, but they're totally different and there was a loud clicking. Had to buy the $100 buttercup air spring upgrade. Annoyingly there doesn't seem to be a non-buttercup spring for travel changes if you don't have a Lyrik ultimate.

Thanks! I upgraded the air spring on my 2023 Yari. As I was torquing the damper side bottom bolt down to 7.3nm, it slipped a bit and I thought I stripped it. It messed up the metal some. I could not get the rebound cap back on and couldn't figure out why until I took it to the shop and remembered I did this. We swapped the bolt and the cap went right on. Crazy that slip on the wrench made the bolt expand just enough that the cap wouldn't go back on.

Quick tip, you can grind off inner bevel socket so you can make it flush so it will fit much like proper adapter for specific job.

Another well done vid! I'd say that's enough grease on the air spring...I've seen some other vids that used too much grease that blocked the negative air dimple in the stanchion. I noticed you didn't replace the crush washers. I know most times they can be reused as long as there's no oil leaking, but I just replace them every time I do a lower service since a pack of 50 was like $7 when I got them.

2023 Yamaha YDX-MORO 05 with revelation DebonAir set at 160 mm want to drop down with 2 tokens to 150mm that came with the bike (27.5) does it mean with out air tube change out The forks are labeled both 160mm & 150mm . 0 tokens installed by dealer.

FYI this doesn't apply to MY23 Pike with the Debonair+ Spring...figured that out the hard way. Can't upgrade MY23+ Pike past 140mm :(

If I adjust mine from 140 to 160 of travel how donyoubthen account for correct sag? I cant find this answer anywhere. Isnt the location of 30% sag going to change on the stansion? TIA

Ok, so if I buy a Lyrik 2023 with 160 MM shaft I ONLY need a shorter airshaft (like 140 MM) to make it a shorter travel fork? I Think 160 is a little to much for mine Honzo 2022. Standard it is a 120 MM fork, the 2023 model is 130 MM. So if I don’t like the 160 it’s this easy to make it shorter?! Don’t replace the damper itself?

Does this mean you cant possibly adjust the travel from 150 to 140 without changing the air shaft/air spring?

Not zeb it 38 mm but all rest are 35mm

Uhm for newbies and non tech people I don't suggest doing this yourself if you damage your suspension you are screwed...better let a specialist do this...
