Wow!!! you wound those fast, no won’t you got the job in the shop! Don’t forget stretching is important for stings and fingers 👍🏽

You should add the 'how to change strings on the dullahan guitar' to the description. Headless are getting more popular. (:

Hi. Good video! I would like to see an episode "how to change the nut" on guitar or bass. I want to change the nut on my HB guitars for a Tusq nut but in first place i don't know what model to buy and will afect the final result. Thanks

Do you not recommend doing the "twist-lock" thing from your older video anymore?

Elixir strings RULE ! NOTHING comes even close, when it comes to LONGEVITY and FEEL. TONE is a preference, so I'm not gonna claim, that they sound the best - I just like the sound I'm getting.

Have you tried the new ddarrio XT strings? I've never tried Elixir, but the XT's basically feel like regular strings to me. Maybe VERY slightly more "slick" or smooth, but I definitely wouldn't be able to tell without knowing ahead of time.
@aek4018
@aek4018 4 года назад
@@niclastname yes I have. they lasted a bit longer than regular XL's, but were dead after a couple of weeks - still good strings, but no match for Elixir.

I like to use my fret erasers with the guard when I do string changes. Great for a little cheap maintenance for minor scratches and polishing.😎
@ThomannsGuitarsBasses
@ThomannsGuitarsBasses 4 года назад
I do that too like 3-4 times a year. Polished frets do feel awesome to play. :) //cheers, Kris

I picked up a couple used Basses for my Birthday, how do you find out the gauge of the strings? Keep up the good work.
@ThomannsGuitarsBasses
@ThomannsGuitarsBasses 4 года назад
A digital caliper will help you find out the gauge. But you can also go to a music retailer and ask the sales guys. In most shops there is going to be someone with tools and experience. You can also simply change them to "standard" bass strings (45-100 for example) and see how that feels. //cheers, Kris

Wait, did I miss the video about string changes on headless guitars?
@countblue
@countblue 3 года назад
I changed from 0.09 to 0.10 and noticed not difference in intonation or neck relief. It might be so little that I dont notice, but my tuner should, well he doesnt.

I changed to low e string one time but it tightened very quickly, like 3 winds of the tuning post and it was very tight. I was worried it was going to snap, any tips?
@redcomn
@redcomn 4 года назад
Btw with prs make sure to lock with quarter. It's not that tight without it.
@ThomannsGuitarsBasses
@ThomannsGuitarsBasses 4 года назад
It works pretty fine this way too if your hands are strong enough. You're right though, a quarter is the way to go. :) //cheers, Kris
