Putting the air filter on that filter support/body was way harder than I expected! It took me a half hour to get the filter over that second lip on the body! Especially after spraying that pj1 foam filter oil on it. The best way to explain how tough it was to get the filter over the last lip on the filter body is just imagine trying to put a condom on a greased watermelon. I ended up using a shoehorn to slip the filter over the body.
Thanks for this video. I got a mix air filter and I tell you what it took every ounce of strength and the right placement of tools to get that rubber over the filter. Do other filters have more clearance?
Engine illiterate here. Went to change the air filter, your video helped immensely, but whoever had my used Rancher before me must have chucked the inner frame. Want to replace it but not even sure what to call it. Have been looking at Partzilla but no luck yet. P.s. 2006 Honda Rancher trx350.
Check out #2 on this diagram. It's called the air cleaner body: www.partzilla.com/catalog/honda/atv/2006/trx350fe-a-fourtrax-rancher-4x4-es/air-cleaner
2000 rancher 350. Starts cold, but dies when warmed and won't restart. Just found a button that looks like a choke on side of filter that appears to be a primer, and pushed 3 times. Started then turned off. Is there a small filter inside plastic 90 on fuel inlet side?
John is there any type of screen part. That goes on the end of a stock snorkel on a 2019 Honda 420 Rancha. I'm just trying to prevent mice from crawling through and making a nest in air box. I think something like that should be installed in the factory.
I can never understand why people don't take 2 extra minutes to clean the outside of the parts they are putting back on a machine, i.e. the dirty airbox cover and leaves under the seat in this particular case. He poured a bit of sand into the airbox when he removed it.
We bought this model unit from a friend. The filter frame did not come on the unit. When we place the cover over the free box, the unit turns off. Is it due to the filter frame, or lack of?
If it only happens when you put the cover on, it sounds like it is shutting off the air supply. The air box could be clogged with mud. Just clear it out and see if that fixes it.
Does the filter element male end supposed to slide inside the Carb intake tube or over. I bought a brand new filter and element. The male end of the element is the same size as the intake tube on the Carburetor. Did I buy correct part for the connection
