You seem very knowledgeable. I have a 2008 X3; changed both Vanos, changed both camshaft sensors, still have issues. Is there a fuse for the camshaft sensors? If so, where?
@@chrisrich1487 Without knowing it, the problem was much much worse. a few months earlier, the serpentine belt broke while driving it. To me, it was no big deal and I changed it… And all seem well - so I thought, and drove it as usual. I found out the hard way that all motorized BMWs have a mechanical design flaw. When the serpentine belt breaks, there is a good chance it will wrap itself around the crank shaft… And slowly make its way past the seal into the motor. Thin strains pass right through the seal. That’s why all the lights and warnings were coming on the dash. Eventually my engine seized and it cost me $7000 to swap the motor. I was so pissed off with BMW that they never issued any kind of warning that this could happen. No other car manufacturer has this mechanical design flaw. and what’s worse is they have known about it for years, and failed to warn the public. I asked BMW if they have a remedy to prevent this from reoccurring but they are pleading the 5th… they won’t even tell me if their new models are now equipped to prevent this catastrophe. I asked Transport Canada to investigate to determine if this warrants a nationwide recall… I haven’t heard from them.
Where can I get the schwaben battery powered code reader? I’ve been trying to find it and I can’t find it, just the regular ones that’s powered through the vehicle
