hi everyone, I hope you enjoy the video with a few tips for the coloration of your fish sub Corey Hecker / @coreyhecker sub Ben Ochart / @benochart my Instagram is AdamCSolo my email is laneyandmya1@gmail.com
Great vid. It may seem like a silly question, but what would you expect from a tank that has the back painted in matt black, and has a pure white substrate? Your tank, and the other tanks shown in the vid, are absolutely stunning. You guys really know what your doing.
Great video Adam. I agreed that the substrate color affect the color of the fish although it's hard to compare unless all tanks have the same lighting. I love a black background with Sahara sand substrate.
This is the video I was looking for!!! Thank you very much, I was wondering what's wrong with my fish, why are they all so very dark. The Blues are stunning on my Electric Blue Ahlis and my German Red Shoulders but my Benga Sunshines are Orange!!! and my Other fish that are supposed to show lighter reds are also more orange in colour. Thanks again for the video gentlemen.
South Americans use the same concept as Africans. Dark substrate = darker deeper colours, light substrate = lighter brighter colours. I think it's a good idea to get a substrate which is a shade somewhere in the middle so then you get the best of both worlds with the fishes colour.
No worries Adam. Another way to slightly alter fish colour is food. Lots of spirulina will bring out the blue on fish. Stuff like astaxanthin will bring out red.
Yeah. Like you. I prefer brighter colors. But I would agree that certain fish do look maybe more to my liking in their darker variation. But overall I like brighter. Ohhh. And tell Corey....that’s an Amazon Maculiceps
No you can't use too much as far as harming the fish, but you'll get to a point where you're almost wasting it if you have like 3 or 4 times more than what it says to use on the bottle
Great video Adam! I can vouch on this I went from white substrate to black substrate and all my fish got darker right away. My moori dolphin went from a sky blue to a dark navy blue and black towards his anal fins..
It’s because you get no reflection off the sand if picked black sand so the fish seem darker. And with light or white sand the light reflections and makes the fish seem a lot brighter. I’ve had both, black sand and white sand. I like them both bc they both have there pros and cons.
