How to change the CVT fluid on a 2016-2022 Honda HRV 

This is the proper procedure, many fail to verify the levels by opening the check bolt. You can’t just go by replacing the exact amount that comes out because levels may be off to begin with- either improperly serviced from before or maybe even having a leak.

Thank you! The honda hcf-2 is crap. I do a drain and fill once a year on my 19 civic coupe 1.5t. I've been running castrol since 20,000 miles with no issues. I always do a 3x drain and fill when switching transmission fluid brands. Anyway, I fairly recently decided to go back to hcf-2, was not happy at all with it. So back to castrol. I also just did the pan filter, and the cartridge filter for a second time. The transmission just feels so much better with castrol. Better acceleration, and judging by how little there was on the magnets in the pan and drain plug, it's doing something. I'm at 74,000 miles btw. Ive heard that the honda fluid isn't even synthetic. I'd love to run amsoil like you, but I hate that I have to order it, plus I enjoy doing a drain and fill once a year. Castrol is $24 a gallon, and has amazing reviews.

Thanks for the detailed video. I saved myself a $309 Brake Masters shop. Thought they would “flush it out” for that price but it’s just a DRAIN N POUR service. My ATF replacement went well but the only thing is that I should have removed the front driver wheel to allow more space and to catch the fluid into the container I got the HONDA CVT oil at the Honda dealership for $13.55 per quart. Great deal.

the filter has no cover dont it gets dirts from engine? or water? like snow as well

the transmission vent arrow should point to the battery not forward as the factory installed it.
