By far best video out there on how to easily remove the belt cover and drive belt. Removing air filter and grease fitting is key. Not in the manual. Thank you.
I never monkey with the air filter box or hose, just the zert with a 10mm wrench, slide out cover from bottom with a bit of tugging on the bottom. Leave the top till the bottom comes.
im no puss...6ft 240 I could not get the belt to squeeze down like this. For the life of me why did polaris go to this design....exactly like the video states. If your out on the trail...whats a person to do??
I rolled most of the belt on. And then used a 18” pipe wrench to turn last bit. I broke down with tracks on in the deep snow. I tried like the video said. Easy in the dry shop on flat ground.
I ended up using a web style filter wrench and got a bit more leverage and got mine on, placed it on the hub of the secondary clutch and rotated the clutch. Hope that helps anyone else.👍👍

@@armedfarm3429 You’d be on the factory belt if it were a Yamaha. I maintained a fleet of 30 UTVs and ATVs for six years for an Ag company. Had 8 year old Yamahas with 10k+ miles and thousands of hours with the factory belt. Brand new Polaris’ would break belts regularly. I begged my boss to buy only Yamaha but he kept buying the Polarises because they were cheap.
This is a load of crap; Polaris original belts are the best in the business. Quit buying the belts off of E-Bay made in China with the words Original Polaris OEM on the card container. They see you coming, LMAO.@@2003lightning1
@@2003lightning1 Yer a funny man! LMAO. My original belt was same width as the second belt, about 1/32nd" less than new. Still good for a lot of hours. The 3rd belt went on @ over 7000 miles & 2210 hrs. pretty good for 2 belts I thought & is a split blonde fuzz hair wider than the first 2. Whilst I was changing it, I wondered why I was even doing this. So, I have 2 spare belts for my2017 900 xp, @ 69yrs old, I reckon this will be my last belt. What ya think Holmes?
