I would recommend that you use a small funnel to fill the new oil filter with new oil before installing it. You will have to fill it several times as the filament absorbs the oil. This is important in reducing "dry start" engine. Instead of a second or two delay with no oil pressure, you get instant pressure with start-up.

I tried breaker bar 17mm scared to break bolt any suggestions I've done 2 previous changes got.new tires I dont know how it got so tight over almost 400miles with 5w20 could it be the cold

Good video and I especially liked the cardboard trick to minimize the oil clean up afterwards. Also I was happy to see you talk about the crush washer which people forget. My only recommendation would be to use a wrench instead of a socket because you can easily round off the oil pan bolt with the socket.

Nice vid. FYI oil gets black pretty quickly and you can’t go off of color always. Also, I’m not saying not to do it, but I’ve never changed the washer on the pan bolt in 40 years of doing my own oil and I’ve never seen a leak.

Is there any point in using 5W-20 anymore with this car? 0W-20 is cheaper and seems to have better cold weather properties.

I unscrew the filter a little and then put a plastic lunch bag over the filter and it catches all the oil as I’m spinning it off

Once you put in the oil you should start the engine for 15 seconds. Then shut it off so it fills the oil filter and then check the level again

Napa is one of the best filters , that’s a pro select filter which is made of a cheaper quality below the gold filter 7356 which I use in all my Hondas and acuras , I Worked at napa used to think all fikters were the same , look up the Napa oil filters and it’s up there with the bests , it beats out the Mobil 1 filter 100%

i have a 06 TL and when summer time come around i switch the oil to 5w-30 Pennzoil so it doesn’t burn faster and when winter time comes around i switch it back to 5w-20

No synthetic oil will stay gold or yellow for more than 2000-3000 km.( a couple of thousand and miles if you still on middle age mesurements ) the color of oil does not mean that the oil have enough viscosity left. ( I am kidding about mesurements, I still use for inches when it is time to shop clothes and lbs instead of kilogrammes) :) there is about 3 things count when time to think about oil changing. Does the car encounter many road congestions situations, stuck at low speed for minutes (especially over 0 celcius ( spring, summer and fall season) that's what is hard on oil integrity and lasting. the milleage: yes milleage is a mesurement of time but if you onlys do intercommute driving your oil will last close to the maximum expect from your car computer. And finally modern petrochemistry still have a best before date in regard of chemical stability. 7 month should be the longest time engine oil stay in your car oil pan. For my part I usually do oil changing on my two cars every 9000 to 11000km . 8000 to 9000km if the car encounter heavy traffic jam every days. if I am always on highways at speed like 70-110 km/h(30 to 70 M/h) like summer vacations on road)13 000 -14 000km is ok for oil changing) oil is the major thing when is time to talkin engine well maintain and service.

Unloosen? Huh, I didn't know that word actually means to loosen something. Well I learned something new ( by looking up the meaning) inspired from this video. I was going to suggest changing oil while hot so all the dirty bits are in suspension, but that seems to be more of a tip from yesteryear, besides hot oil can burn you. Since the oil filter is facing up you might want to fill the new filter with some oil so it doesn't have an empty spot on startup.
