This will work with any theme. If it "appears" like its not working for you, then most likely you are using CACHING. You need to FLUSH the cache to see the change, if you are using caching. Some hosts force caching on you, if this is the case you need to figure out how to flush it.

Not sure if "flushing" the cache is the same as "clearing" the cache.. But you can easily do that by hitting Shift + F5, or Shift + click refresh...

That is the cache on your local computer, your website also has its cache on the server, that is what needs to be flushed most of the time.

Just tried with ObliqueBy Themeisle .... Seems they have a "hook" and still (as a beginner) seems impossible for me to change. Kindly advise if footer copyright can be changed or if I should "CAN" this theme. Thanks in advance.

Works perfectly for 10's of thousands of users. Most likely you have a caching plugin and you need to clear it.

Just make sure you clear your cache. Something tells me that you may be hosting with Go Daddy and that is part of the problem you're experiencing.

I had some problem with the cache, it was preventing me to see the updates. So I just needed to delete it on the WP Super Cache plugin and then it worked like a charm! Thank you very much!

It's actually easier when you outline the source then right- click and click "view selection source" it will highlight the codes that you need. But great video you are really helpful

Very good. Another option that worked for me. Was to highlight the txt and go to inspect page instead of view source pg, which useally opens displaying the element. Then simply right click on the highlighted element and select Edit HTML, just copy that code and proceed per your instructions. All the Best

P.P.S - just in case, after copying the source code like the video says and the theme credits is still there or your site is unstable, try copying from .......... Then paste as is in the find and replace section, and edit theme author, theme URL and target.

Really can't thank you enough for this. Dead easy, and I am phobic! When I went into Chrome to get the code for the original text on the footer on my website, it automatically highlighted the text, so I didn't have to know which, or how much of it, I needed to copy and paste.

You mentioned doing this before the site goes live. But how do I do it after the site goes live? I am using Astra with Elementor. I do not know where to find the code to change in the WordPress dasboard. Thank you! I have searched but I do not see "Tools" under "Appearance".

You don't need to use this for Astra. this is more for free themes that don't give you the option. Astra has the option to change the footer in the customizer for free and the Pro version.

I tried this on 3 Wordpress sites I have. Pages > Add New and typed in what I wanted in Visual > Clicked "Text" and it did change the font, but nothing else.

I would suggest clearing out what you may have entered, clear your cache, then start from the beginning.

I am using this on one of the elegant themes, themes. I am also working with their support to change the footer. I've managed to design the footer the way I wanted it with this plugin but it doesn't seem to change the actual php because none of the short codes seem to work. For example, placing [year] where I want the current year to show doesn't work. Asking a client to go back every year and update the copyright year isn't really an option. Just wondering if there's a workaround for that? You touch on this briefly in the video but your solution is to go back and manually change it and that's just not a viable option for my client. Just curious and thanks for the video.

Very interesting, thanks for posting. Does the Find-and-replace Plugin impact on site performance? One could think it does, since it inspects ALL code before showing the page.

not working for me ,im using razor-lite i cleared cache and followed you steps to the t . maybe i think i am and im not but i feel pretty confident in that i selected the right code starting with powered by i click update and nothing happens >?

Hi Adam, grettings from Venezuela. I´ve learned a lot from your videos. I previously used your other method and worked fine; but this time I tried your previous method and this one on Sydney theme (last updated) but it doesn´t work. Any help welcome.

Well I didn't have a problem with the Sydney theme as you saw in the video. If you followed my exact steps, then perhaps you have caching that needs to be flushed.
