Hello, Thank you for your comment. The main requirement for the domain name you would like to host and make the main one is that it needs to be registered. In case the domain you would like to set the main one is not registered, please consider purchasing it first. More details regarding the main domain procedure steps can be found in our text guide: www.namecheap.com/support/knowledgebase/article.aspx/172/22/can-i-change-the-main-domain-name-associated-with-my-hosting-account/ Should you need any assistance, please do not hesitate to reach out to our Support Team: www.namecheap.com/help-center/live-chat/
Hello! Thanks for your question! If you have an SSL certificate installed for your current primary domain (domain1.tld), it cannot be transferred automatically to the new domain name (domain2.tld). But if the SSL certificate was ordered with us, it can be re-issued for the new domain name directly through the Namecheap Dashboard. Please follow this tutorial: www.namecheap.com/support/knowledgebase/article.aspx/811/70/how-do-i-reissue-my-ssl-certificate/ In some cases, the SSL certificate can be reissued and reinstalled in just a couple of clicks using the cPanel >> Namecheap SSL menu. Feel free to refer to this part of the guide: www.namecheap.com/support/knowledgebase/article.aspx/10346/22/what-to-do-after-the-change-of-the-cpanel-accounts-primary-domain/#SSL_certificates Do not hesitate to contact our SSL team if you need any further help.
Hi, if you wish to replace a domain assigned to the hosting plan with another domain you own, this can be done anytime. If you meant editing the name of an already purchased domain, it is not possible at the moment. Should you have additional questions, feel free to get in touch with us at www.namecheap.com/help-center/live-chat/
Hello, If you wish to change the main domain name for your hosting account with us the new main domain should meet the following conditions: 1. The domain name you would like to host needs to be registered. 2. The domain name should not be a trademark. 3. The domain name should not be hosted on our servers and not added as an addon domain (or alias) to your hosting account. You can find our article on how to change the main domain associated with your hosting account here: www.namecheap.com/support/knowledgebase/article.aspx/172/22/can-i-change-the-main-domain-name-associated-with-my-hosting-account/ Kind regards, Namecheap Team
" Duplicate Domain Names Your new main domain name should not exist in this or any other Namecheap Shared Hosting account." this part is confusing it leads one to believe they cant have the domain in their current account.
