How to change the screen on Lenovo Yoga 2 

Thanks Tino - I just replaced a screen using your video - very good tutorial. For anyone else replacing a screen, make sure you don't mix up the various small black screws - some are different lengths and you will damage the backplate if you put the wrong one in the wrong place. When you put your new screen in, the main screen connector was hard to insert and I thought the screen was not working. The connector was just not in far ennough - it takes a little effort. I used some hot glue to re-attach the tape for the connector as the adhesive was left on the old screen. When you are attaching the screen to the backplate, be careful to slide it all the way down (this is not as easy as it looks) or the screws will not go back in easily. I had to loosen the screws on the right-hand hinge and work that side of the screen down until it was fitting correctly. I also had two additional screws which attach the very outer edge of the bezel to the backplate (to the outside of both the hinges). So if you have two tiny black screws left (like I did!) then this is probably where they are from. Best of luck.

My replacement required that I peel off the old screen from its' plastic frame and it was a little longer on the bottom, but it all worked out okay.. little cable finagling when putting the final little plastic thing back on, but it is up and running now. I ordered the LCD and didn't realize it didn't include the digitizer screen and bezel, which are normally glued together. What is that assembly called, and is epoxy OK to glue it together? Any purchasing tips for that assembly, or vendors? It appears you don't endorse vendors.

Hi Studentenfleib90, make sure that you use the little motherboard that came with the screen to make the touch screen work, don't put the original from the yoga .

The digitizer is glued together with the lcd.

If I have have a cracked screen should I be looking for just the digitizer or a screen and digitizer?

Hi Great video. I changed the screen and put together perfectly. But I just took it apart again to change the screen back lid and I think I have screwed through a wire cause the screen won’t work. Laptop on but screen is off? Is it easy to fit a new wire or mend it?

Hi Tino, may yoga 14 screen is not folding flat to the back for the tablet mode. There is a small issue with the right hinge like thing that connects key pad and screen. Is there a way to fix it?
