When hooking up your implement leave your arms all the way down. This allows you to move them by hand up to line them up. Makes getting them hooked up so much easier. And if you arent level when hooking up, hook up the left side first then you can use the right side up and down adjustment to line up right side. I used to do it the way you showed and it was always the same fight you experienced. Once you leave the arms down it becomes so easy. No more fighting with it. I learned from a RU-vid vid how to do correctly so can't take credit.
