@@anzalrasheed2653 sorry ur going through this bro. I will say now that everything you’ve done in the past is irreversible. As much as it sucks, all u can really do is you can own up to your mistakes and control how u will act in the future. Hope this helps :)
@@SamLui thanks ❤️😊 it meant a lot for me coz I just trusted my friends very MUCH but they just trying to stepping away from me and I just lack confidence coz of my acne on my face and I can't even talk to a girl I just literally waste 2 years by doing nothing
People always say that it’s good to take things slow, recognize your small wins, etc. i didn’t listen. I set unrealistic goals and felt very discouraged when I would fail again and again. Super inconsistent. Im learning to be kinder on myself and to be patient, be invested in the process. Thanks for the video Sam~
This year I learned about the acronym of setting SMART goals. The R stands for realistic. I can relate to setting unrealistic goals and feeling very discouraged when there where no sign of progression. A good friend of mine told me that patience is a virtue that is developed and consistency is key.
One of my overall goals for the next year is to recognize the small wins and victories. I’m trying to recognize that I’m allowed to be both proud of my accomplishments but also striving to be better at the same time.
My 2021 goal was to (re)start running and trying to go running regularly. On 30th december 2020 I made a plan on paper: 3 times per week, starting with 5km and adding an half km every month (so finishing december running 10,5km per run): it looked affordable. Tomorrow I will run my last one of the year, never skipped once and in the meantime I found myself running my first half marathon in october (I travelled for 300km to do it) and the half marathon in my hometown in early december. Things escalated quickly... I still can't believe it. I will remember it forever. When it comes to run, I remember a sentence I read (I guess) in Atomic Habits: i am still struggling on other fields, social, financial, post graduate jobs... so maybe 2022? Thank you Sam for your content, it means a lot for us! Best wishes for the new year. An italian fan
Absolutely adore this video! I'm really glad I found your channel a few months ago, you inspire me to keep going with my own content. I also love your perspective on progress and how it really is more effective to focus on one area instead of burning yourself out by trying to improve too many things at once. I definitely did that in 2021 and I'm glad I finally gave myself a break from everything (including RU-vid) in this past month. I'm excited to start my channel up again in 2022 and am looking forward to your content more than ever!
@@SamLui I am, but it might be a few more months until Japanese borders open again. Until then, I'm putting all my energy into my RU-vid channel and starting my own business!
I am starting the year with great long term projects in mind, so I planned to take baby steps to get past this year with bites of satisfactions and enjoyment of the process. I posted my first YT video two days ago and I plan to post a video a month so is not so difficult ahahaha. It's not a big goal to post 12 video in 2022, but considering that I work 25 hours a week and I go to university, I would be very happy to end the year with this goal reached. To start making one video a week will signify sending to hell my studies so I will take it easy. My subscribers do not matter so much because I know that with these videos I will improve my talking and editing skill so in the next 2/3 years I'll have the possibility to make better content and have an impact on more people. Thank you so much Sam because in the end it was you that made me make the decision to start. I also took the cue from your first video because I found that so good to be the first so I readjusted it in my language (Italian). Happy new year to you and all your subscribers!
Excellent point about stressing the importance of not going into extremes. Definitely learned that lesson myself in this year. It isn't necessary to go 100% all of the time because it will quickly burn you out and potentially make you quit from your goal altogether. You can let yourself work at a less intensity as long as it is a part of a PLAN. The example you gave about timing video uploads was perfect. Great video Sam. You absolutely nailed it in 2021! (RU-vid success wise), but I guess generally in life too :)
I feel motivated after watching this video ! Thank you very much for the video~ Happy Holiday and Happy New Year in advance! Ps. Your thumbnail is super cool!
I don't know who you are. RU-vid just suggested this video for me. Just because you are so nihilistic, you have my sub. That's the way I think and it's very easy to not find meaning in anything. But I still want to start something new next year (or this year, or any year) and I like that you're keeping it real
Very thankful that your vids made it on my recommendation list. This year I have completed my 6 month goal of going to the gym, an hour 15 times per month and hit my weight goal. For 2022 the plan is to do another 6 consecutive months and add more weight to the resistance training (For those gains) and the other is to get a finical literacy certification to utilize for my personal finances and share with the community.
very well explained. i like the videos that give me kind of ideas how to structure anything or how to start. even if just "the start" is most of the times is important. With the video "how to make the most of your 20s" I saw u the first time and got sometimes suggestions on other content from u. even if i have not see so much yet i rly appreciate the way how u explain and structure your content. very well sam, keep going and best wishes to u and your family
Hi Sam, I’m only a recent subscriber but your yt channel has helped me so much these past few months. U really have an unique way of getting across your thoughts and ideas. And the topics u discuss in ur videos are very thought provoking. Thank you for creating your RU-vid channel. 🙏🙏 you have earned a subscriber for life 😄 have a happy new year!
Notes : Theres really no special day to start make changes Balance between accepting ourselves & wanting to change ourselves Strategy to make your plan works : plan carefully & pace yourself. Pace : think like a compound interest shit. A little builds over in a long period of time. Doesnt seem much day to day but it is changing in a big scale Good plan : start simple. Kiss : keep it simple stupid. Flexibility. Plan a,b,c. Eg;What if you gotta work extra shift that day then doesnt have a time to work put ? My own note : make series of life events that may occur & whats your exit plan? Celebrate small wins because big win seldom to come. Realistic & doesnt be too hard on yourself if it doesnt go your way Just trying to have some fun along the way. My own note : change "i have to" -> "i get to". I get to cook simple good quality meal for myself. I get to exercise to make those good hormones go out. I get to plan how to make my life better. I get to study. I get to scoop my cat's shit & i am grateful i even have one, instead of "i have to scoop my cat's shit". Sorry for any typo. English isnt my first language & it is literally 4am in my country rn
Thank you for taking the time to create yet another wonderful video, Sam. Your advice is always spot on and I personally admire your ability to project a sense of accomplishment even in the smallest of things. 2022 is going to be a very difficult year for me. But I am so thankful for the optimism you are able to share about life in general and I know it will be a huge help to me as things get more and more difficult. I might not be around to see it, but I really hope that someday you might consider teaching on either a full or part time basis. You are so easy to understand, and combining that with your incredibly optimistic personality, I think you would have such a positive impact on so many people. Happy New Year, Sam. And thank you once again for your amazing work. I apologize for the length of my response.
