Archetype’s are shared between all RTS custom players so long as the player still fits the “model” (EX: position only -> position only). In your case for the two way “model” if you want to change into say “swolhei”. You’ll probably have to start over at bronze and rebuild but it should work. Just follow the steps and make the new character with the new archetype you want to use on your current RTS player. You will be able to change from that two way combo to the one you desire. You will have to start over in the Minors though. There is no way around that. EDIT: I guess the archetypes aren’t actually shared in this game for some reason or maybe I’m just doing something wrong. This was the case in 21-22 but for whatever reason I’m unable to switch between a sparkplug and slugger build. Hopefully this is fixed in 24.
@@Adajet Thank you for answering. Then, if you are promoted to major in CP/3B, you cannot use that method to change to SP midway through. (and vice versa) I understand.
@@El-Kaiser1221 Correct. You will have to reset and make a new player who is a SP/3B and then load into the season while having the actually ball player you want to use selected.
Quirks are a passive aspect of the game that operate in the background :). There is no way to active them manually. I believe they exist more or less to just signify a player does something. For example the bomber quirk, it states the player hits home runs. In reality it is a small bonus on fly ball distance overall but is not significant.
@@Adajet I understand, but in previous versions, under the label QUIRKS, you could see them as your pitcher increased his quality and statistics. This version doesn't show you the quirks, even if you have a 99 rating overall.
@@industriales31 I actually did not know that myself, I’ll double check my player tomorrow when I hop on to see if I have any on my CAP! Maybe it’s just really hard to earn pitcher quirks in 23, this game does seem like a mess overall 😅.
@@industriales31 I just found this on the forum page. Turns out they were removed this year from RTTS. “MagyMayhem said in RTTS player and quirks?: The passive quirks have been removed this year. They did absolutely nothing since they were given after reaching a certain level with a certain attribute and no actual boost to anything because of the quirk.”
Hi Elio, you'll have to try and change the archetype of your character to whatever new one you just created on your throw away player. I'm not entirely sure if you will be able to equip a position player's archetypes though.
Mine just glitched it all out and put the new created character as my main guy and deleted my created character. Still have all my whole career of stats but it deleted my attributes and now I have to remake my character. And it didn't even change my position.
Sadly no, you will have to reset your progress. Not sure why they won’t allow us to change positions but it is what it is. Hopefully 24 comes with this feature.
If the character you are trying to play as is not already a 2 way selected player than you cannot change from a pitcher to a fielding position. As mentioned in the video, this only works with certain transitions. Pure position players can transition to any position on the field EXCEPT pitcher (1B -- RF). Pure pitcher players can change ONLY TO other rotation roles (SP -- RP) (SP--CP) ETC. Two way players can change to either a pure position player or a pure pitcher player. (SP/SS -- RF) (SP/SS -- CP) Two way players can also change to a different two way player combination (SP/SS -- CP/RF). Sadly there is no way in MLB the Show 23 to play as a catcher with the character you are currently using as they have been selected to only pitch.
Hi Peter, this video is specifically for the Road To The Show mode in MLB The Show 23. I haven't played diamond dynasty enough in 23 to be 100% accurate but. in previous games you were able to move the player around with a slight out of position penalty. Try searching for your player in the out of position location when attempting to pick them at a different position.
In this The Show it will leave your player with 0 fielding attributes if you try playing with them in another position. I also need help changing the position of my Ballplayer for Diamond Dynasty
@@kickassjjsame here, I made a CF this year instead of 2nd Base like I usually do. I f’d up and have to use him at DH because his arm is so weak, so annoying. Then on top of that you can’t use wrist tape or wrist bands. They need to fix their bugs and servers.
Now that my ball player position has changed from catcher to shortstop can I put him in my diamond dynasty team as a short stop because it still said out of position for me @adajet
Hi Aiidic! Sadly that’s not possible with this method. This method only allows you to adjust your CAPs position in RTTS. You can move them to SS and take the out of position penalty to play them there but sadly that’s the only way to do it. I recommend to just DH your CAP in DD if you don’t want to play them in their selected position. I have encountered a bug where my create a player is listed as a starting pitcher instead of their intended position. I’m still trying to figure out what causes this and if there is a way to manipulate it so that one can change the primary position in diamond dynasty as well. If I figure out how to do it constantly I will make a video on it. Sadly as of now though there is no way to change the primary position in and diamond dynasty.
