Very informative and helpful. The top of my transmission, where the fill plug sits is always wet. I just can't seem to locate what, where the leak or thing causing it. I dont have any stains on my driveway but every 2 months it collects a layer of dust and dirt leaving a gooey mess. Was wondering if you have herd of any similar issue? Thanks for the video.

Hi, My question is, LETS SAY there is a STREAM coming out of the fluid check port at a good rate ...do you replace the plug SOON AS the flow begins to slow down, or should I wait for it run out as slow as it did in this video? THANK YOU
@LifeIsBetterWithLove
@LifeIsBetterWithLove 4 месяца назад
I think he was saying the flow he's showing is in the video is a good flow. If it's faster let it drain, but not all over your parts. Probably grab something empty to catch it all.

This is a pretty non-sense way to Check fluid Level's. GM must have thought a Dipstick works to well..

@@GodsChild1249 I couldnt agree more. I just changed the transmission filter and fluid in my 2017 jeep and it was nearly impossible to get all the bolts off the pan. Also no dipstick. Its a conspiracy I'm sure.

Do you put the car in neutral or park? Or does that matter?
@rocket2386
@rocket2386 7 месяцев назад
To get the most accurate reading, you want the car to be fully warmed up, running, in neutral, and on a level surface. Dont forget to set your parking brake so it doesn't roll over you.

When refilling do I leave the check plug out until the fluid comes out then let it drain until a slow stream and then put the check plug back in

🚨I have a question... I had seen another video before yours and the guy didn't have the engine running when he checked the fluid and removed the overfill plug. I'm not sure which is the proper way to check it, with or without the engine running. But wouldn't the transmission fluid not be level or accurate when you removed the overfill plug and the fluid drains out "while the engine is running and everything is rotating"? 🤔 What's the proper way? To get a proper reading, wouldn't you want the fluid to be "still and level" without the engine running to be accurate? 🤔

You reccomend just a fluid change on these vehicles or to do a full flush.
@codemansauto208
@codemansauto208 Год назад
just a fluid change, and maybe drive it a couple of months and change the fluid again

the reason is you dont want to disturb anything that could possibly stop the filter up on a sealed unit

No trans fitler on 2.4 Ecotec 2010 malibu
@kellybuzzelljr.3439
@kellybuzzelljr.3439 Год назад
To clarify both of these prior responses, which are both kinda correct: Yes there is a filter, but unlike older cars, this is a "Sealed Transmission" and in order to actually change it, you would have to literally open up the whole Trans to find it, instead of just dropping the transmission pan and swapping the filter like we all used to do 10-50+ years ago. So Yes, there is a Filter. No, it is not replaceable (well, I guess it is if you're rebuilding your transmission, but you get what I'm saying)
