How to Check Fuses
When a potentially dangerous electrical surge occurs, a car fuse can “blow.” Breaking the electrical current protects the valuable components in your car from overheating. Even better, fuses are cheap and can be replaced without any special mechanical knowledge. You can test most fuses simply by looking at them, or you can perform more thorough tests with electronics such as a test light or multimeter. Once you have identified a broken fuse, you can replace it with an identical fuse to get your car running again.
