WHEN YOU DO YOUR CHEST SUPPORTED DUMBBELL ROWS TRY MAINTAINING A SLIGHT 45 DURING YOUR DUMBBELL ROW VS KEEPING THEM IN THE NEUTRAL POSITION. THIS WILL PUT YOUR LATS IN AN ACTIVATED POSITION FROM THE VERY START OF THE PULL.
Thank you, I'm really trying to isolate and focus on lats so I can build strength for a strict pull-up! I haven't done much strength prior to 2022 and have had the hardest time isolating lats. Just learned that chest supported is best and glad I found your video for the 45° tip.
I would go moderate to really focus on the contraction and feeling the pump in the muscle. If you go too heavy there is a chance the traps might begin to take over.
it's really not. Rear delts and teres are involved during every row. The majority of gym goers have issues activating their lats as well their rear delts, whether it's due to lack of attention or just poor mind muscle connection. As a result their back is usually lacking when compared to the front. By incorporating this small change during this exercise in particular. They will develop the mind muscle connection needed to activate the the lats and rear delts more efficiently during the heavier sets and when they incorporate a more neutral grip.
