Coby let me just put it on record that your channel is so underrated. The effort and information you share is of high quality and succinctness that communicates command on this topic on hiking. Been doing hiking for quite a while and enjoying it with friends. Nagkamali pala ako sa pagpili ng shoes ko dahil midcut, waterproof and my target mountain as of now is here in the Philippines na medyo hot ang klima. Having said that, God bless your channel and more vlogs to come. More power Coby Sarreal.
I totally agree with having the right fit. I lost a toenail from hiking Mt. Apo simply because my shoes were of wrong fit. Thanks, Coby. Very informative.
Sir, thank you very much for your videos. I watched all of them. You have great content and I’m learning a lot. I hope you will still continue sharing us your knowledge and wisdom on mountaineering, hiking and camping. May God bless you.
Cool opening intro. I know that tune. Orange County Supertones!!! My tip for anyone looking for the right hiking boot or trail shoes. First, put on a 50lb(25 kg) backpack and walk for 5 hours. Go up hill and downhill. When you start to stumble and drag your feet, now is the perfect time to try on hiking shoes. No joke. It's only when you start hiking "extreme" is when your footwear is most important.
Daraitan nakasuot ako ng chuck that was back in 2015 😂😅 ngayong nagtry ulit ako maghike 2023 tagal nasundan. This time Merrell na shoes ko.😂
Hello Sir Coby, thank you so much for this informative vlog of yours. I started my hiking journey this year and I've been watching your vlogs for some hiking tips. Btw, I just have a question lang po. Do you recommend trail shoes po? I've been seeing a lot of people using trail shoes as their substitute to hiking shoes. If this is recommended, under which conditions po kaya siyang okay gamitin? Thank you and God bless to your channel 😊
Hi! Sorry for the late response. I'll see what I can do! I'm not much of a fan of sandals kasi when hiking-haha. Sa campsite though I would prefer open toe slippers para easy to wear at pwede suotin kahit may medyas. Parang crocs style.
Hey coby, Considering that i have a budget for only one pair of shoes, should i go for the non waterproof or waterproof? I'm in the Philippines and i want to use that one pair for all of my treks. Thank you for the videos! Love them
Personally, I would go for non-waterproof shoes. That's what I use most of the time! Wishing you all the best on your hikes in the Philippines! I'm sure you'll enjoy it.
Personally, I'm not a fan of sandals for hiking. I feel much safer and comfortable with hiking shoes. But, for some mas okay sa kanila ang sandals! Mas mahangin daw sa paa at madali linisin. So, it'll depend on your preference. But if your just starting, I suggest starting with shoes for safety. Let me know what works best for you!
I'm not a fan of sandals, hindi ako comportable sa kanya at mas safe ang pakiramdam ko sa sapatos. I know some guys though who find sandals very practical though. Cheaper, madali hugasan at i-pack!
For starters, okay lang. Not the best but it'll give you an idea on how hiking is. I don't suggest buying a hiking shoe immediately! Start small, start slow and get the hang of it.
