So true. MS kept cutting him out everytime he attempted to speak. He is the authority on lampshades and lamps not her. What an attention hog she is. I stopped watching. One of the comments said the video doesn't tell you how to pick the right style of lampshade. Saved me some time. Thanks for your comment.

I do the wiring , I think is fun and also I feel much safer because these antiques can have very old and needed for thicker wire. I need to learn how to put a new fabric in the original shade.

Just got 2 "Hand Me Down" Candle Stick Lamps...KNEW I needed Short Round shades 🙄 not these HUGE generic, white, Triangular ones. THANK YOU!

Martha, who I usually think it's pretty with it, interrupts constantly. Not sure why she asks for expert advice, but has to cut in without allowing him to finish speaking. He probably had more details to add on some lampshades but she can't shut up.

While I appreciate the need to keep things moving, there was not much detail on how to pick a lamp shade. It would have been much more helpful to have several styles and shapes of bases and advice on selecting a shade that complements. How do you know when the shade is too large in diameter at either the top or bottom? I'm just sayin'...

Thank you for saying this, now I don't have to waste time watching the whole video. It also would have helped if MS would have stop interrupting him, he's the authority on lampshades/lighting not her. Jeez, what an ego!!!

I've wanted to understand lampshades because my selections have been dubious. I'm short & the lightbulb often shines right smack in my eyes. A diffuser sounds good, but where are they sold? Are there different kinds? Etc etc Let me just say that while others (taller) are delighted with the lighting I always feel lost in the shuffle, squinting to see past the direct bulb's light, etc. There must must must be a solution that everyone else just knows....but me.

Do remember that the idea of not expensive varies on the person, and where you are using it. My living room shades are more expensive than the ones in my bedroom, and far less in a vacation home. Target also has shades in all price points.
