Also when you get shoes that look really good to you, you actually skate better because you feel good. Thats kinda like a mental thing xd worked for me, same with clothes too. I mean i have a bad sesh if my pants fit weirdly or i dont like the look of my clothes.
I got wide feet I've been getting the es og accel a few times over, comfortable too in the osiris d3. By the way ordered online through tactics for the first time:10/10 got exactly what I ordered, fast, on time. You guys are are super efficient. I recomend tactics to everyone.
always look for skate shoes that suit your preferences, and one that looks good for you so you feel better and more confident. for example you like shoes that feel thin and one with your foot for more boardfeel and you like something that looks classic, a janoski or a vans slip on would be your pick. If you like high cuts and feel more protected get the skate high. there are so many skate shoes you will always find the one you like and one that suits you perfectly.
@@_hwpo I never really skated high tops because they feel so restrictive and it feels like they’re hard to flick, and the way they look I just can’t find a nice set of clothes to match with it. but I have skated the sk8 hi for three days. maybe I could recommend it to you. there is suede on the area that I mostly get holes. the vans sk8 hi PRO is better since I’ve seen the differences between a normal vans and the pro ones. the pro line last waaaaay longer, grippier and have insoles that can give you wayyy more impact protection. The nike Blazer SB high also seems to be a great shoe since I hear people talking about them a lot. it looks hella good too.
The thing I look out for the most when buying shoes for skaitng, is that the bottom sole will last long. I used to ride vans and always ended up with holes under my toes. Currently, I've been using the Lakai Cambridge for the past 5 months and still the bottom soles look like they're new.
Very nice overview. I have a weird situation where my shoes always wear out in the back. This is from flat feet. Haven't found any skate shoes made to combat this.
@@tacticsboardshop Hey dude! I mean the collar on the inside just above the soul. Seems like the heel pushes against it too hard. I need a foot doctor haha
Maybe the shoe is busting because of how you're putting them on? 🤷♂️ I remember back in the 2000's, there was that plastic heel cup that was in every all of the puffy Adio and DC skate shoes, and it would bust from us cramming our feet into the shoes without untying them. Then it would scrape the back of our ankles and we'd slap a bunch of duct tape on there to protect our ankles. 😂 Skate shoes have certainly come a long way. - Tim
Matt.Cook.Oregon maybe try out some insoles.. footprint insoles do a version called the ‘gamechangers’ or the ‘kingfoam elite’ made for people with flat feet. Check them out
1:26 my mom bought these shoes by Vans in the middle for me and not for skateboarding but because they look good and this is such a coincidence that they are the best and highly recommended skate shoes lmao
iam not a skater or fans of skateboarding but for sure iam very loved wear skate shoes such as Etnies.. It very comfort with me and look stylish at the same time
I'm gonna jump straight to skateboarding from next weekend. So i do love your channel so much. The details you're mentioning with simple understandable. Changes my motorbikes shoes to skating shoes. 😳 Looking forward to New & fresh vid on your channel and wish me luck. My love of adventure sports like skateboarding got me here ✌️ Looking forward to
I had been breaking my run in downhill with my shoes and some weeks later my shoes got holes under the sole, so I recommend to learn to powerslide or swing with your skate to don't lose much control while run into it.
I think that the Louie Lopez pros from converse is a very good shoe, it’s what I’m skating right now. It is suede so it is pretty durable, the insoles are cushy enough that you take impacts. You still have good board control. I usually skate vans pros and the chuck taylor pro that converse offers, and I think that the Louie Lopez pro is a perfect in-between of those two. I recommend trying it
If you are gonna skate a long time, like into 30 or 40, get orthotic shoes. I'm 30 and if I go out for a few hours the difference is night and day. Normal shoes make my ankles hurt, I really like the new balance line, they have large sizes for my old man feet and are often on sale at my local for 50$
I don't think I've _ever_ learned *more* about something in less than 9mins than I just learned watching this vid. And I'm not brain-melted from all the new info either?! Where were you when I was getting a D in history? (lol)
I've tried a decent amount in this year. Osiris Hightops feel nice but I need a change on the insole and slight size bigger as it hurts my toes and the insole hurts the bals of my feet for long sessions or street skating. AJ1 are just expensive and a semi tight fit with a insole that has cushion makes AJ1 worth it if you find a cheap used pair. DCs, I've tried the small less bulky ones, they felt good, but never truly skated them to abuse. Tried the graffiti courts (bulky shoes or like me and my friend calls them "toaster ovens") they felt good but tight on the toes again. Hurts em. I've found that personally dunks or the reps aj1 off whites feel good asf. Trying out a sb blazer low but I plan on getting dunks as I've felt comfy with them the most
What about if you are a beginner, just rolled your ankle using teimberlands...duh...lesson learnt (will wait a few weeks before I try again). Should I buy a separate band to protect the ankle, or buy high sided or mid-high sided shoes.. BTW i am NOT young
I bought some half cabs about a month ago, and the outside of my foot has started to hurt when pushing after a long skate. Is it worth getting some insoles or some more protective socks? Great video, really helpful
I would recommend getting a pair of skating insouls they are slightly more expensive but offer much more comfort and support, id pair then with some thicker socks too. Good luck bro
I have a problem with the vans pro chima 2. In the upper joint area, where my toes connect with the feet, feel so hard and dont like it, but i ve use them only few times. Any tip?
In the 2000s I liked Emericas and nike sb dunks, and then from like 2009-15 I like the Adidas Campus Vulc Mid up until they stopped making it so I switched back to some Nike SB blazers and have been skating those ever since, trying dunks and NB shoes here n there but really all youll ever need is some sb blazers. best skate shoe ever. oh and youre gonna need all the gr and qs dunks because god forbid these kids get them that don't appreciate shit about sneaker culture :D
iim a fan of cupsole for life. ive skated quite a few pairs of vulcs and they are not for me. they flip good but are too thin for me and i like a solid structured shoe. for instance i like es accel slims but the STI insole is paper thin and i was getting hot pockets so i ordered FP insoles and i wish i had them sooner and they helped but then i went back to NikeSB dunks and dunks are my number 1 and ive skated many pairs and brands of shoes since early 2000s and all i wear is skate shoes day in day out. ive thought about skating my vulcs and having the FP insoles in but my janoskis are stupidly narrow footed and i hate that.
Just get a shoe that feel good on your feet, have good grip on the board and looks good You will want to skate more in them and get better Love me some vans slipons as the grip is solid and I'm lazy when it comes to tying laces
What are some shoes you recommend for a dad wanting to learn how to skateboard. My family plus work I wont skate as much as I would like to I also dont want to but Im also on a budget so i cant spend more thN forty dollars.
Really any skate shoe will work, especially if you're just starting out. Maybe look for some cupsole shoes because they're gonna be more supportive. As far as the budget goes, you got to lurk through the sale sections. Vans tend to be relatively inexpensive and sometimes you can find some decent skate shoes at Ross Dress for Less. I hope you find a pair you're stoked on! - Tim
I feel that the video forgot to mention weight of the shoe. This for me is a must when considering a shoe. The weight of a shoe can affect ur ability to skate.
Yo dude! First, thx for the video, really interesting exciting, and importan. Can I ask one thing? What that éS red shoe at 7:30 tell me pls...thank you! I have a Globe Sabre now which so very comfy, puffy and massive strong, and now winter it's practic, but I wan't change something like that éS and-or Etnies-PlanB - Marana. All the best, peace!
Thanks for the kind words! 🙌 The shoes at 7:30 were a special red Valentines day colorway of the éS Accel OG that came out a few years ago. You might be able to find a pair somewhere. Cheers! - Tim
Yup! Sometime after this video was published, Vans made the PopCush insoles standard in all of their Skate Classic shoes. The PopCush insole are a bit better because they're polyurethane instead of foam so they don't pack out as much as the UltraCush insoles. 👍 - Tim
If you have a narrow foot, then you could really get any skate shoe and they will work great. Nike and some Adidas models tend to be narrow, and and the Lakai Riley 2 shoes are super narrow too. If you don't know what you're looking for, just get a shoe that you're stoked on how it looks, but just make sure it's made of suede or leather because canvas shoes don't last at all. 👍 - Tim
