You mean you can't just use white, black and brown? (LOL) This looks like a good system for other types of painting too! Of course, the results speak for themselves- those are wonderful portraits!

Hello Emily! I'm a big fan and I watch all your videos. They help me so much with my pet portraits! I have to paint a portrait of a brown dapple dachshund. Quite difficult for me! Could you consider painting it for us? I think it would be very interesting!
Heh, this video is a godsend: I just wanted to paint our dog with acrylics, and even though the basics are done (darkest darks, highlights and basic shapes), I'm kinda at a loss as to how to go on from there. Hopefully, this'll give me an idea :)

One of the reasons I have never tried to do animal portraits is because I can't even figure out where to start, I feel completely overwhelmed at even the thought of attempting one. I am hoping this will help me overcome those fears and doubts. Thank you.
Emily, wow thanks so much.making this chart is going to be the hardest part. Not quite understanding how to accomplish the mixing. I understand putting the 6 colors at the top (50/50) parts water/part paint abd down the side 80/20. So do I have two areas for each mixture of paint and then mix the intersecting grid. Or do I continue to lighten the paints with each grid. Totally lost. Is it possible to do the chart for us slowly. I'm a member so would be thrilled if you would do at least two or three lines to get us going.
