How to Clamp RMS Power from an Amp and find Box Rise 

You went through all this and didnt even explain the settings youre supposed to use. Theres so many settings on the clamp and the multimeter

So in my case I'm strapped too hooked everything up just like you did I got 88v 20amps That's 1760watts 4.4 ohms right? Now is that wattage per amps since I have 2 or is that both combined?? Cause I'm hoping it's not I have 2 cab 2ks wired at .5 each lol

Is there anything to do to help box rise? I’m currently wired at 2 ohms and rising to 8+

i have hooked 2 12 inchs in individual boxes connected in series at 2 ohms. At woofer level resistance is 2 ohm and doing the similar test like you did the resistance jumps to 9 ohm at 40hz and around 6 ohms at 32hz. ( by measuring voltage and amps, V/R) is my boz rise or impedence rise too much? means my box is badly tuned?

So less box rise (in ohm), the better? Would I be trying to see 1 ohm in the ideal world? Thank you for this video!

I didn't figure anything out from this the only thing I know is I set the clamp meter I put it around the positive speaker wire and I got a 12 and this is when I had the clamp set to 200 amp still never got my total wattage or power out of it only thing I saw was amps and you would think that an amplifier like I'm running would put out over a hundred amps not 12 basically I was putting out about half the power that you were with all those amps according to what it said at Full Tilt. The number I come up with is two point something so I guess I would assume that I was using two ohms and almost full tilt. Not really sure what that means in reference to power though

Hello Jacob, is there a way that i can find the power of an amp that i really know nothing about? I have an amp (actually two of them) that is pretty rare and there is no info on the internet about them. They are an AVI ABH1002. They say 100w x 2 on the special plate on the front but i have never seen a 200w amp this big. Also back in a forum from like 2006 someone said that the rumor was you could get a 1,000w out of it. Id like to figure this out as i want to do an sq. System and run one to each audiofrog 12” sub. Any thoughts on how to find this out without wrecking them?

So say I have a mono amp and two woofers. When i clamp, am I clamping one or both positive outputs? When I calculate the rms, am I multiplying by two since its two subs? Btw good video you answered all of my questions besides this one. But still I appreciate the time you took to educate us noobs.

This was all done at a idle correct, so how much of a difference would #s be if engine was like at 2k rpms

I clamed my bc-4k and got 2780 watts. I'm wired to 1om, I did the math and I went up to 2.01 om. Soft clip, volts at amp went to 13.0 I was playing a test tone at 38hz

I was trying this test and initially only got about 800w on Salt 4, I set my EQ flat and pushed 3500w. Why would the EQ make that big of a difference?
