To get the rest of the dust out from a wet brush, soak it in hot water with a a little dish soap. Than scrub the base of the brush with a dish brush. It will be easier than a toothbrush. You can do the same with natural bristle brushes but only submerge it quickly while you use the dish brush. Than lay it out to dry. A little friendly advice from a hair stylist

It mostly comes from the hair. Its an accumulation of clothes fibers and other dust particles flying around that land on top of our heads 🙃 And then get stuck until brushed or washed. That's why a few hundred years ago people used to "clean" their hair with hair brushes in between washed.

This is so timely! I was getting SO annoyed with the dust in my brushes. It takes a looong time to clean every bristle with your fingers… Thank you for showing an easier and more effective way!

I know what you mean, I thought I was the only one that thought my airbrush was Donkey. I use spray-on leave-in conditioner and gets build up because when I brush my hair this morning it looks like I didn't wash it. 😂 Just the mere mention of hair in food makes my eyes water and my throat swell up. 😂 I'm OCD about hair on my floor though, everytime I brush my hair or my daughter, I must clean it up. The funniest thing happened recently, my daughter had a friend over and they were doing their hair and the girl took her hairbrush and pulled hair out of it and just dropped it on the floor. And she did it right in front of me. Well she was speaking to me. It just shocked me. I suppose she's never had to clean before so it wouldn't occur to her. Well, if that's my biggest complaint about the girl, we're doing good. ❤️

Seriously? Or are you just saying that to try and fit in? Brushes are exposed to hair, dead skin cells, grease, dirt…what makes you think it would just be your brushes? Even worse, not knowing how to clean them, which is just common sense!

I use Ship-Shape comb and brush cleaner from Sally’s.It disinigrates all the scummy stuff.Great for cleaning blinds also

Thanks for sharing! I have requested this video a while ago so I’m glad to finally see it. I think people should clean their brushes (hair brushes and combs), hair tools (curling irons, straighteners, etc) & hair accessories (scrunchies, hair clips, headbands, etc) once a week. Keeping them sanitary will help with having a clean and healthy scalp/ hair. Dry the hair brushes upside down to ensure it is fully dry and won’t harbor bacteria or other mold.🙂

After getting the hair out, I use a toothbrush and put shampoo on it and scrub my hairbrushes (flat backed wet brush). And rinse it with water, pat it to get water out, and then air-dry it.

I also bought a hairbrush cleaning brush from amazon that gets all that lint that doesn’t like to come off! It works so much easier for me and gets it all out!

I first use a comb, then use a (designated) pair of tweezers to get into my wetbrush and grab the hair that’s sort of wrapped around the bristles. It’s time consuming, but looks like new when I’m done!

I grew up with placing an old pair of panty hose over the brush. Once it's dirty with build up and hair, you just pull off and toss the piece of stocking. Then use another piece to put back on. Easy and simple 👌.

Does it remove the dust that gets built up around each bristle? I might try this. They make pet brushes that can easily come apart for easy cleaning (I used one once), I wish someone would create a nicer version for humans.

I have my vents professionally cleaned every year as well as my furnace. I keep vent filters in the vent covers, changing them out every 3 months and vacuuming before returning the vent cover in its place. Also, I keep a magnetic cover on my vents when they are not in use (spring and fall). Wall heaters I keep covered with the magnetic covers when not in use to keep the dust out and a professional to come clean them. I vacuum those wall heaters weekly with my carpets year round. I make sure they are off and cooled off before vacuuming with the brush tool on my vacuum hose.

What I think is gross is cleaning hair out of your drain in the shower and out of the sinks and I have found that if you go to the dollar store or wherever and they've got these things that you can plug your drain with when you go to shower and wash your hair that when you do the hair goes into that plastic drain but the water will drain through it but you'll catch the hair in that thing but that's even sometimes a little gross to depend on the person that's showering and you have to clean it out it can get slimy and very gross

@Rose Fraley I agree, even though absolutely no one wants hair in their food, my least favorite chore is cleaning the hair out of the drains in the bathroom. Yuck!

My suggestion is to bring the trash bin close by and always use a tissue or a wet wipe to pull hairs out of the drain, makes it less bad since you don't have to directly touch all the nasty soap scum attached to the hair.

I put my wet brushes in the dishwasher on the top shelf without soap and on lowest temperature setting - after getting as much out as I can first. They come out clean every time.

I usually use a pair of tweezers with soap and water and run them vertically up and down really fast through the bristles to lift up as much embedded hair as possible, and use the tweezers to remove individual strands wherever I can. The dust gets tricky since it intertwines around the individual bristles. I tend to try to use the tweezers to remove what I can but sometimes it's just way too time consuming so you have to compromise that it won't be 100% perfect but at least better than it was before.

I have the last one and I'm just gonna throw it away and buy the second one. My brush gets so much dust by the end of the week and it makes me so frustrated. I use the Wet comb & a small ace comb so it’s easy to just soak them in Dawn dishwashing liquid then use a toothbrush to clean them up. I have used the brushes with the balls on the ends and they are a absolute pain to clean.

OMG 🙈 this is the result of bad habbits! Whenever you brush your hair, ALWAYS, and AT ONCE just grab those few hairs and bin them out at once and immediately! AND YOU’LL NEVER HAVE TO CLEAN BRUSHES AGAIN! ❤️

I wash my hair once a week and that is my cue to clean my hair brush too. I have a brush that has a removable bristle pad so I'm able to pull that off and clean it with a tooth brush after pulling all the hair off. Gets nice and clean and I'm not getting my freshly washed hair all greasy again from my hair brush.

For a hairbrush with beads at the tips of the teeth like a padded brush, use steel wool / goldilocks. Just mush it in between the teeth and pull it back out a few times. The steel wire loops catch onto the gunk rings around the teeth and pull them off.

I had never thought about it before but my brushes are never dirty. I take the hairs off the brush every time I brush my hair, so there's no hairs on my brushes. Also I put them back into the drawer straight away after using them, so no dust accumulates, it also helps that I wash my hair every day so it doesn't get greasy and it doesn't gets the brush dirty .

Not only I can learn or remember things to do around the house, that can be sometimes forgotten, I also learn about other countries habits and the main reason I watch hers and other people's videos is to practice my English. I live in Europe, and English is not our native language 😉

I actually wanted to clean my brush this morning. Tangle teezer and comb, both suuuuper easy to clean. But the wet brush tips were amazing for my paddle brush, that thing is a nightmare to clean tbh but it brushes out the hair the best sigh.

I have long hair and the dust clumps on the wet brush come off wonderfully well with a brush rack. I recently bought one and I wished I had known about these years ago. It gets the hair and alot of the dust balls or clumps out, racking vigorously and then washing them with soapy water. They were like 5.00 on Amazon.

8 used to do the dust painfully 1 by one with nails pulling & always a tiny bit in a few bristles. I don't use those cheap $1 store anymore bus easier ones to clean us a big one similar type square to ovet all detangle burst through the smaller ones to style how I want, but how can you so small ones with all that long hair ? I couldn't. I would need the big one I have. I never thought is like one, but it is my #1 fave. It feels smooth handle on my hand grip & the bristles on my hair & scalp, etc. It cost me $8 or a bit more. Not recall exactly. It was at Target. Well worth it.

This came at the perfect time! I used spray on colored hair dye for my costume. The kind that washes right out. But I had to brush my hair a bit and now they have hair color on them. One of the brushes looks like the natural one you have but it is plastic handle and plastic bristles. Can I clean it the same way? Will shampoo get the color out?

I use a single kleenex and the s pattern to pick them all up (and covering the sink with a towel is a good preventative measure) :)

I've had good luck cleaning my wet brush using my boar hair brush, and then using a wide tooth comb to clean the boar hair brush.

How do you clean a wooden hairbrush? Can you wash it as long as you keep the wood dry?

Use the same tips as shown in the video except, instead of soaking it a sink, you'll want to spray the bristles with the solution and scrub with a cleaning toothbrush and just wipe down the wooden area with a clean/damp microfibre cloth.

I have an electric straightening hair brush with two types of hard bristles. It has been impossible to clean it entirely. I manage to get some dirt out, but there’s always something left. Toothbrush is too big, I tried with dental floss and other small brushes, but still can’t get it cleaned. Any ideas?

when people ask me how i am doing i politely tell them: i'm hanging in there like a hair in a biscuit. nothing worse then enjoying grandmother's fluffy biscuits and pulling away a hair.

Hair in my food . A restaurant served me a soup with a rubber band in it . I couldn’t eat after that . They didn’t think it was a big deal .

My googled how to clean my paddle hairbrush and your RU-vid channel came up. What’s the grossest to me is hair in food. How can you be sure that it’s really your own lol.

I have to use a tweezers to clean out those little white balls on my wet brush. It’s so annoying! I clean the hair out every time I use it but that fuzz is brutal.

Once hair has left the head, it's gross. It doesn't matter if it's mine or not. Hair in my sink is so gross, especially if the sink is dirty. I don't mind the dirt part but the dirt and hair together just grosses me out. Hair in food is gross too.
