For kiters in high wind, remember that if you see sand moving in the gusts, your pump sucks in sand through the intake which is always pointed upwind. It's better to clean it regularly than waiting until it's sticky.

can you rinse inside pump, seal and shaft?

I wouldn't recommend that... also oil/grease doesn't wash out with water. Just wipe as much of it out as you can and then oil again 👍

WD-40 is not a lubricant...

Yes it is. It's not a good lubricant, but it does lubricate.

Fair point, I suppose. What would you suggest instead? I'd personally avoid thicker oil, etc as the sand gets caught in it, making a grinding paste.

I am using technical vaseline. Found it on some forum and it seems to work well
