We took a dirty old Beretta 303 and gave it some serious love with some of the best cleaning gear around.

I have both a Remington model 11 and a Beretta AL390. THE 390 being my first and only gas operator. I never knew how to properly go through the 390 for maintenance. I oiled the daylights out of it. After watching your video, I realize I have to go back and dry it out a bit. Thanks for sharing. Cheers and thumbs up!

Great instructional video! You’d be surprised how many people own semis and don’t know how to clean them properly, and then complain because they don’t last. I have a Mossberg 930 that’s as good as the day I bought it because I basically baby the thing.

I bought a Baikal S/A in the Holts sealed bid auction that was in Summer. I can only assume the owner sent it to auction due to cycling issues because when I got it home and stripped it down it was absolutely caked. Every single part was disgustingly filthy. I gave it a good clean and it cycled fine first time I took it out. Not sure if the previous owner did have problems but I can't see how they wouldn't have done. Their loss is my gain though. £250-300 gun for £100 and a couple of hours elbow grease.

Hi from Canada! Love your videos mate, instant fan! I especially liked the browse through Holts. As for this video, I have exactly that Beretta A301 semi and the one port is fully blocked. It doesn’t cycle target loads very well and I can’t seem to get that port open. Should I just bang it open?

@FallHuntsman

That’s exactly how I was taught to clean a shotgun barrel - I’ve seen the choke threads in a barrel basically ruined by trying to screw a choke back into badly fouled threads.
@tgsoutdoors
@tgsoutdoors 3 года назад
Always wipe them out before putting the choke back in. Removing the choke and cleaning that area after everything else means you have to mop out the barrel twice, which seems less efficient. I have done both ways in the past and the only preferable one is to just own a fixed choke.

Bel video complimenti !! MADE IN ITALY IS BETTER !!

You just have to stir the parts of some pieces where there will be friction and with just a little oil. If we use a lot of oil they get dirty again very soon; dust sticks to them more easily if they are bathed in oil. I'm sorry my english is not very good enought, But that's the idea.

I took the barrel, forearm, and piston apart for the first time to clean it but now the piston slides freely about 1.5 inches with the bolt open - what did I do wrong, or miss? Or, does the piston move like this freely with the bolt open, and get pushed into the forearm cap by the operating rod once the bolt closes?
@tgsoutdoors

With the bolt closed the Pisyon should sit into the housing nicely. When the gun fires the gas pushes it out and the bolt back accordingly. So when the bolt is open the piston should Have free(ish) travel

This Human Engine ...... wrap a couple of turns of a boot lace or bore snake around the bolt handle where it fits into the bolt, push the bolt marginally rearwards with your finger to take the pressure off the bolt handle and pull hard on the lace, this normally does the trick, alternatively, wrap a rag around the bolt handle to protect the finish and pull out with a pliers, being careful not to mar the finish on the bolt handle.

@robertstallard7836 3 года назад
@@zachg3840 I see what you mean! The distinction is that in UK law pretty much anyone can own a shotgun unless they have a criminal record or they're mentally unstable etc. A shotgun is held on a shotgun licence, which is automatically granted unless you fall into one of the above categories. They are, however, restricted to three shots unless you hold them on a firearms certificate (see below). A firearm, on the other hand, is usually a rifled arm such as bolt action rifles, lever actions etc. They're held on a firearms certificate (FAC), which you apply for. The criteria for getting one is pretty simple - you need somewhere safe to store it and somewhere to shoot! In other words, have a gun cabinet and be a member of a club with access to ranges or have permission to shoot over land that's larger than a pocket handkerchief. The firearms you can own are wide-ranging, from .22 to 50 cal, the exceptions being anything fully automatic (like much of the US, I think), semi automatic other than .22 and (on the mainland only) you need a more comprehensive certificate for handguns, which isn't at all easy to get. On mainland UK on an ordianry FAC you can own and shoot revolvers with a long barrel plus, of course, black powder revolvers of any type, but not your semi-auto Glocks etc. It is flawed legislation and was unfortunately introduced by Tony Blair to try and win votes.
@zachg3840
@zachg3840 3 года назад
@@robertstallard7836 damn, learn something new every day! I live in New Jersey which has some of the strictest laws in the US. We have to get a little card but once you have that any long gun is yours as long as it applies with the shitty assault weapons ban, and of course you can only have 10 rounds in a mag. If you live in a free state a 200 dollar tax stamp and an additional background check you can own a machine gun
@robertstallard7836
@robertstallard7836 2 года назад
@@gr-s2143 Everything you say is correct. However, the shotgun licence application is on the same form as the Firearms application. Under section 14 of the application form you list the firearms you wish to acquire with type, make, serial number and reason. It also states: "If applying for a shotgun certificate only, go to Part E" Part E then invites you to list the calibre/bore, action/type, make and serial number. There is no column for "reason" as there is for firearms. The guidance you quote is correct, but the onus is on the police to prove that you do not have a good reason, wheras for firearms it's up to you to prove that you do. I realise that the difference is subtle, but it is there. Nothing has changed - you still don't have to provide a reason. Indeed, there is no space on the certificate for you to do so. It is also the case that where these is no fault on the part of the applicant (e.g. leaving has safe open and having his guns stolen), appeals usually succeed. Unfortunately, lots of people roll over and just accept what the police say, when an appeal could eaily be won.

Thank you for sharing, highly appreciated. But it’s seemed like to watch a drama only; due to very strict, unreasonable & ridiculous restrictions laws, still same as martial law implemented period since the end of World War II; nobody is allowed to buy any kinds of gun, no chance to touch semi auto guns; if someone has against the law, would be put in jail for many years or endless or shot to death by the government! It’s stricter than some communism countries! No real democracy, freedom and human right! Cheating other countries and people in the world! Damned officials! dirty! Corrupted!

@@robertstallard7836 Thank you very much. Somebody said freedom is a natural thing, like water flow mountains to ocean; but there’s a very sad history for people in this area, they want to get freedom for more than a century, millions people (too many, can not be counted) got slaughtered, people’s blood flow from mountains to ocean. Up to now, just get a portion of freedom, vices still exists. It’s not real democracy, freedom and human right; don’t mention other areas. A lot of Asia people still under totalitarian ruling. Wish European & America areas countries help Asia people to get rid of strict control.
