Introducing the Beretta A303 12 Gauge semi-automatic shotgun made in italy in 1986 by Fabbrica d'Armi Pietro Beretta. It features a 3'' magnum chamber and a 30''' Mobil Choke vent ribbed barrel which makes this aluminum alloy bodied shotgun a great trap shooter.
Here, we explore its function, design, and performance. I've had this shotgun for quite a while but never seem to get used to its light feel and balance so I took it out solo to the trap range for four straight games alone with a puller to really try to dial it in. Scores were 15, 21,20, 18......better performance for me than I've had in the past.....not sure I ever shot in the 20's with it before. Still felt a bit.....inconsistent. Can't understand why....it's smooth and super comfortable to shoot. I'll keep at it.....and try to learn some Italian to boot.
Thanks for tuning in......don't forget to LIKE, COMMENT & SUBSCRIBE!

Thank you for the video. Was my first shotgun and still works like a charm 35 years old...I can afirm how much rounds she have but I can say that she as more then 25000+ rounds, never replace nothing, and my Breda is about 30 years old and same thing amazing!!!👍💯

Best shotgun i ever owned and i have had many. Did break the connecting rod once. Perfect LOP and fit for me. Have shot many birds with this gun. Tried other guns always come back to this one. Bought mine in 1990 and i have the cutoff switch in the bottom. Must keep relatively clean especially the 2 gas holes in the barrel. Made in Italy and it does matter.

I have a urika a391 and its almost identical in its operation. With a loaded mag push the lifter with your thumb and hit the bolt release, that emptys the tube without having to cycle the action to unload. I love beretta shotguns

That's a very early model with the magazine cut-off switch near the trigger. The later models had the switch on the bottom of the forend. Just picked up a later model 20 gauge 303. Great skeet and upland bird gun. The beauty of the magazine cut-off switch is quickly manually ejecting a shell out of the chamber and putting in a different shell without another coming up out of the magazine. Works for waterfowl hunting if a goose comes in and you're loaded for ducks.
@MilsurpGarage
@MilsurpGarage 9 месяцев назад
As demonstrated in the video....that switch functions as a bolt hold open, not a magazine cut off. That switch can be used to hold the bolt open for a shell switch but it doesn’t cut off the magazine, rather there is a “default” cut off automatically in place unless the trigger is pulled or the little button on the lifter pressed.....at least this is how the “early” A303 is functioning. Very Italian.....gotta learn to speak it......

I know what you mean, I have a Beretta AL390 in 20 gauge, It has the lifter button, the bolt closing button, and a (true) magazine cutoff on the left receiver. Loading and shooting is self-evident. However, the simultaneous use of the magazine cutoff and the lifter button - which allow both isolating the magazine and the shell by shell magazine unloading (you called it the "pop-out") - nearly always require my re-reading of the manual. BTW the magazine cutoff is also a bolt hold open device. I speak a little Italian, and we have travelled in Italy several times, so I am not surprised by the various options and machinations of the gun. It is VERY Italian!

That is more A302 then A303. I have an A303 myself, a bit diferent. Mine runs fine with 1oz/28gram lead shells. Never seen an A303 like that. Congrats on the video. My review is in portuguese but i have a shooting section you might like. Feel free to check it out.

For quick and easy shell switch. Hold the gun uppright 45°up 1 press the lifter button (1 shell leavs the mag into the lifter) 2 switch the bolt holder up 3 pull the bolt all the way back but not to fast (the shell in the pipe will swing out 90°) 4 grab the shell 5 switch down the boltholder (loads the shell in the lifter) 6 load the shell thats in your hand in the mag (if you want)

Hello , great instructive video, Thanks, but I want to disassemble the all trigger block, did you try to separate it? this is to take a look at the elevator plate system as sometimes it doesn't work completely, doesn't push up the cartridge. Thank You.
@MilsurpGarage
@MilsurpGarage 4 дня назад
RU-vid gets weird these days if you disassemble and show detailed function. After the rules change a month or so ago, they consider this instructions on how to create a firearm which is against policy and can get you banned. Us gun tubers now have to be very careful about showing even patent drawings on their videos.

No matter how hard I pull and wiggle the cocking handle, it won’t come off. What’s the solution?
@MilsurpGarage
@MilsurpGarage Месяц назад
You see how I kind of manipulated the action until the handle was kind of in the middle of the bolt? There’s a sweet spot there where it comes out and it will only come out in that one spot. You have to kind of move things around. Follow exactly the position in my video and you’ll get it.

@dougalmcalpine6804
@dougalmcalpine6804 Год назад
Could the magazine cut off be the small button behind the lifter on the bottom of the receiver? That way with the safety on there is no way a shell could enter the receiver or reach the lifter at all.
@MilsurpGarage
@MilsurpGarage Год назад
If I recall correctly, just pressing it allows a shell to pass regardless of the safety button position

I’ve tried that ghost loading procedure on the 303.....saw another RU-vid video on it, but my shells did dit fit as his did. I’m sure there is a way to do it with different shells or something but I didn’t see much use for it being its a trap gun. As for the Breda....I’d love to learn how it normally works first!
