LCDs are very difficult to clean. How many times have you tried to clean a bare LCD on an iPad and it seems to make it even worse?
Here I show you how to clean a bare iPad LCD that has adhesive stuck to it as well as finger prints. Its easy to do once you know the technique.

Thank you!! I was rushing too much and not wearing gloves. I accidentally did a few knuckle touches to lcd and back of the glass. This helped a lot! Windex is great stuff 👍

OK, I did as you suggested but the results were not stellar. I then tried a solution of 50% di water with 50% anhydrous alcohol. I found that the window cleaner by Zep was not high quality and I was indeed smearing some old glue residue onto the LCD panel. I washed it with the alcohol solution 6 times and each time more of the goo came off. Finally, no streaks, finished with a microfiber cloth as you suggested and now have a working Ipad Mini 2. Thanks for the response, I was about to give up.

Yeah don’t use a Q-tip, it’s strands can easily scratch the screen

Idk why but I cleaned my lcd with a micro fibre cloth and now that the iPad is assembled the whole screen looks like it’s got like tv static all over it

I really struggle with getting LCDs clean no matter what I use as it looks perfect while cleaning and immediately after cleaning, but give it a few seconds and there is as if by magic a layer of hazy streaks on it.

What adhesive do they put on the lcd do I need to put some on before putting the screen on

It looks lije ipad polorizers do acept alcohol, ive tried this methos on Amazon Fire kindle 7 and alchohol penetratrates thru the polirizer all tge way to the back light

John Foster use a new microfiber cloth like in the video, the streaks will go away. Also, make sure and remove an adhesive residue before hand or else it’ll be smearing on the screen

I want to know how you clean the Digitizer side on the screen... But not this outside of the digitizer. The inside!!! The part that goes toward the LCD.. I had a job where i kept it PERFECT until fuly assembled, and a piece of the stupid "FOAM" from around the LCD Fell into the middle when in had pressed it down, so it stuck to the inside of the Digitizer... How do you clean that off, because they have a layer of "tacky" material on them.

This sucks when it happens. If I really care about the work done then I just grab a new digitizer and use the "sullied" one later on a budget repair for less discerning customers. Mind you I mostly fix-to-sell for my own sake and I have to look at the cost-benefit of worrying over every dust spec and if it is "good enough" then I leave it be. A high ticket item will get a fresh one to get maximum bang for the buck. When I reuse an old one from my stack and if I feel it need cleaning then alcohol does the trick. Wet it down and go to town in it :D
