How To Clean And Seal Brick -- Brickwall Feature Wall 

I came here for the know- how, stayed longer for the satisfying brushing sounds.

Did this on Christmas day. Had to strip black paint off our bricks. We absolutely love the color scheme (same as yours) of the brick. Not too many houses in the US have this brick color scheme. Applied a brick sealer and boy does it bring the colors back to life.

Great job and a lot of elbow grease! How long did it take to clean that area? How many sqft or sqm there are?

Hard to find help with an INTERIOR wall. Can't use a pressure washer indoors! I installed a brick veneer wall and I got too aggressive with the sponge and grey-washed the entire wall. The wire brush worked well and a matte sealer enhanced the brick without adding a sheen. Cheers from LaLa Land, California.

Beautiful. I have a building that is two stories high and over 5,300 square feet with ONE ENTIRE side I want to use. The Outside wall is brick with stucco over it and inside it is that entire wall that is brick I would like to expose. This is nice but it would take MONTHS to do all of the brick. I am at a lost.

I'm putting this on repeat while I do exactly the same thing very soon in an old barn in Poland mate.. so thanks for this. (exactly same plaster on sides too, just making it feature wall). One question though, sorry if you may have said - on my wall, I found the bricks have been laid in an uneven manner.. some levels are slightly indented etc.. What should I do about this? Leave it alone or somehow shave off the ones sticking out, or fill in the ones indented?? Any advice appreciated.

Does the brick and mortar stay that darker colour or does it dry the same again?

Do i need to do this if im putting plasterboard on the brickwork?

Does it leave a sheen?

What are your thoughts on using stabiliser solution instead, or is it pretty much the same? Eg stormdry solution Did you have to repoint before doing this?

This might be a silly question, is there any reason why you didn't seal the brickwork first ? Looks terriffic by the way

Would diluted PVA 5:1 be as good as using the 'No Nonsense sealer' ? It would be a lot cheaper as the sealer is £15/litre?

What kind of brush did you use to out the solution on? Masonary brush?

Are there ongoing maintenance considerations when exposing brickwork like that?

spray with acid, sponge with water, spray with sealer. maybe im just lazy lol

So this can be a sealant and paint over it?

Could you use a jet wash to clean it to save time.

Wow........I'm surprised you didn't seal the brick before painting? What's the reasoning for doing it that way round? Cheers mate......informative as usual.
