In this video I demonstrate how to use a 30 L ultrasonic cleaning unit to clear plastic aquarium ornaments. Unit dimensions and operating instructions, as well aw how I keep the ultrasonic bath clean while selectively controlling what cleansing solution is used on each part separately.
This unit has transducers that operate at 40 hz, or 40,000 cycles per second.
If you use just water, you'll get "ok" results. If you add dawn dish soap, or bleach to your heated water, the results are greatly improved.
DO NOT PUT A WRIST WATCH INTO AN ULTRASONIC CLEANER!!!!! Dive Watch Permanently DOWN
CAUTION: do not ever put your hands IN the bath while the unit is operating!
You can suffer tissue and joint damage.
Rinse Aquarium Ornaments thoroughly with fresh water after using bleach solutions - don't forget to dose with an aquarium Dechlorinator during reintroduction.
In the near future, I will be demonstrating some of the best ultrasonic cleaning solutions and parameters for various materials, so subscribe if you want to be notified when those videos post.
Ultrasonic waves pass right through glass jars or plastic containers as long as they are fluid filled. If sound strikes an air interface, more than 90% of the energy is reflected and does not transmit.
Solid non-porous materials are the best candidates for ultrasonic cleaning.
This unit held accurate heat settings and your other control is the timer. You can not adjust ultrasonic gain with this unit, so it does what it does.
