I use to professional detail cars, but now just do it on the side and i use a hoover carpet cleaner that's just like this for cars and it works wonders! Pro tip though... if you truly want the seats as clean as possible... scrub the seats with all purpose cleaner and use the extractor with only water in it, no soap.. the little water left behind can evaporate but if there's still a little soap in it, the soap will act like a trap for dirt and seats will get dirty easily again

Stauffer Garage Friend worked at Kohls. They had a RugDoctor Pro that someone returned unopened, put it for 90% off retail in clearance. My friend put it on hold because he knew I was looking for one for a good price, ended up paying $36 instead of the retail ($400-$550)

Something I like to do with these machines, since I have a Hoover myself, is to saturate the area you’re working with shampoo, then turning off the machine and agitating it with the brush (pressure variable with type of fabric or carpet). Then I’d turn the vacuum on and perform the extraction. I’ll do 3-5 passes and I work in sections to prevent the water from going too deep into whatever I’m working with.. especially true with seats and the foam inserts.
@danielpindell1267
@danielpindell1267 6 лет назад
You were using it wrong. Don't worry, I did the same thing. That's why you had to keep doing multiple passes and it kept pulling dirt out. Should have sprayed it and let it sit for 60-120 seconds. Then scrub the fabric and then use the vacuum afterwards. It would have been faster.

@ThatBiohazardGuy
@ThatBiohazardGuy 4 года назад
In my experience, you place your cleaning solution in a spray bottle, and only use water in the extractor. Spray the seats with solution. Then spray water from extractor as you extract, this let's you see when the seats are clean. If the water is brown, still dirty, if foamy/white, there is still solution.

Kristi Kervin I have to give credit where it's due and this cat is really good at what he does. He has what it takes to do a job and do it right the first time first off he knows and understands his chemicals and what and hat not to put it on second he has the patience to do a job that most would find way to aggravating and time consuming but the key word here is detailing automobiles and not just simply cleaning it's the little things that you did along the way that turn out to bring the whole project together and make it look professional

A lot of us consider our vehicles as an extension of our home. We eat, sleep, and even care for our kids inside our car. But these activities can leave contaminants that can harbor harmful germs and bacteria later on. This is why you need to deep clean your car seats regularly. Otherwise, you and your passengers health may be compromised in the long run.

Just an FYI. I believe you're getting more dampness than you should be getting because you made some passes where you pushed the cleaner instead of pulled it downward. It's meant to be a progressive clean where the bottom part of the thing is spraying the solution then it immediately gets sucked up by the top part where you can see the dirty water getting pulled. if you go in the incorrect direction. you're sucking first non existent dirty water, then you're putting the cleaning water solution on. that's why there were some situations where you dif a pass and you left a bunch of dirty water on the seat that had more time to absorb than it should have

any one tried it, if seats are taken out of the car, then why hot take the cover off and just wash it in the washing machine on delicate wash programme? i am asking because i need to do one. so trying to find a foolproof and effective way of doing it. help will be appreciated. thanks

Great video! What do you think about spraying a solution and extracting it with a wet/dry vac?

I have a small version of a carpet cleaner meant for spot cleaning, but has an extractor and brush. Would that work?

If you mix a solution of the cleaner and hot water in a spray bottle ... use that on the seat with a soft brush to agitate before using the extraction cleaner it really gets deep stains and dirt out. Do this all the time with perfect results.

Stauffer Garage I said what i did not to be funny ...i clean and shampoo seats and carpets all the time ... just done 12 years old Ford fiesta seats today that now look brand new and were very grubby! Always mix a solution up and pre soak the seats and carpets a little then agitate them before a proper extraction pro clean. The seats you cleaned still looked stained in places ... but may be that was just lighting idk.

Could I also do this for Velour seats? I’ve heard they are kind of fragile and it would be my first time cleaning them in my classic car.

How come you just didn’t take off the suede? That’s what I did on my 05 Sentra. Then I just threw them into machine. Hot water and low dry and the rest of the time I air dried it

You could also simply use a brush with soap and water to clean most of the car on the cheap...just takes more time. Great video though!
