Used carb cleaner to clean my PCV on my ‘16 Civic… let’s just say I snapped it in my valve cover because of this and fortunately enough was able to pull it out with a 3” screw and some pliers. Lesson learned! Thank you for the proper way of cleaning these little plastic parts 🤙🏽
They sure do! I’ve read on civic forums it’s quite common especially if you don’t switch them out every 30,000 miles or so as preventative maintenance. Granted it’s a wise thing to do since it sits on-top of the valve cover and engine so it’s always exposed to high temps. From now on I’ll be replacing mine often to prevent that incident from happening again!

Interesting channel, just keep up the good work. It would be very interesting and educational to see on this type of PCV valve, valve covers the vacuum flow channels cut open from the crankcase hose entrance to the PCV valve housing toward the Intake manifold exit including the PVC valve cut open.
I just repaced the PCV valve on my 2015 Accord. The old valve didn't rattle, but the new one didn't rattle either. How can you tell when the old valve is not working?
Correct. Same part in the 2014 Accord. PCV valves are no longer as simple as they used to be. E.g. The blow test doesn't work on these ones, though they actually have a check valve.
Clogged injectors result from a combination of factors in the fuel: Impurities, heat soak forming varnish when the car is turned off and all. I won't be thinking of the PCV valve.
