I live in Houston so the air is super moist. This helps prevent rust.

Where did you buy the griddle from? TIA. I have 2 Blackstone, one with grease trap on side and one with it in back. Would like to get one that has grease trap in front.

No. I've used and cleaned griddles in a restaurant. The seasoning is enough. And if it isnt, you better fix it

Blackstone is a name brand. It’s a Blackstone brand griddle. They’re like the Kleenex of griddles if that makes sense.

Yes!!! You have to scrub the chemicals/oils off. Same as with any other griddle or grill. And then season it. Duh!

It’s cold-rolled steel and the manufacturer recommends cleaning it before first use (just like every other manufacturer with a pre-seasoned cooktop).

It’s rolled steel and also you always want to clean it first no matter what it is.

Lye is no longer a common soap ingredient. Lye and abrasives should not be used on seasoned cooking surfaces. It is good practice to wash off factory oils.
