The first two steps didn't do anything for the black stain on my new light colored suede shoes. But your final suggestion, using an ordinary eraser, worked! 👍Two days later I couldn't remember which shoe the stain was on... that's how good the "eraser technique" was!! Thanks for sharing this excellent tutorial!
Definitely going to try this. I've been watching "how to clean suede shoes" videos and they all promote their own products. Not trying to spend an arm and leg on products. Thank you!
I have seen professional shoe cleaners doing the following steps on suede shoes- First they clean the dirts with a hard shoe brush, then use normal shampoo water with an old toothbrush ( the surface gets wet), then use a rounded edge metal scraper(metal cover of the wax shoe polish box) over the surface to remove the shampoo water, then again repeating the same with normal water and removing the water with scraper and let them dry, if one have colour or conditioner..then apply that.
Professional leather worker here. You can use water on suede, just don’t soak the leather. You can use a light foam suede cleaner with some water to clean the suede and once dried you can use a light spray conditioner to moisturize the fibers and then finally brush with a firm brush.
@@realiize if it’s factory dyed it’s safe because the dye is professionally struck through the grain. If you hand dye the suede yourself then it has the possibility of running off.
@@namkhanngajato3911 honestly the easiest thing to do that’s the most effective is take some simple dish soap with water and an old toothbrush. If you’re scared about color transfer or fading then just try to find a hard brush, maybe a bathroom cleaning brush (clean) and scrub the suede.
@@StolenAliasthanks a lot man! Someone gifted me a pair of expensive Loro Piana and they got ruined because the day I wore them (it was a wedding) started raining out of nowhere and they got ruined until I got to the car and I was very upset. I followed your instructions here and they turned out brand new. Thanks a lot again! You are awesome.
for the white part: magic eraser. for the fabric part: either laundry detergent, a shoe cleaner, or color safe/regular bleach (be careful) it’s always worked for my converse and vans
Another misconception about suede; it can't have water. I have €400 navy blue suede Flli. Rossetti summer loafers that I shampoo every year with Saphir's Omnidaim, rinse off UNDER THE TAP, dry overnight, recolour with blue Renovetine and spray with waterproofing spray. They are ten years old and look like new. Water on suede? No problem whatsoever.

You can use water to clean suede, just dont over soak the brush you use, dab dry with clean paper towels, allow to fully dry before bringing the knap of the suede up with a dry brush, by using a rubber you are removing some material, this can create bald spots or discoloration. Does work, but its not ideal. Some good tips.

Thank you! Each step worked wonderfully, and the video is concise. I went back to use the suede cloth at the end of all the steps. They look great again now! I have pink microfiber suede boots, so they are definitely necessary to clean. 👢💗
Thanks! This worked! I had to use all 3 tools: 1) file; eraser & brush! But it worked! Wished that I would have shared the before & after but it’s done now! Thanks again!✅💯
Thank you so much! Thanks to your tutorial i brought my high heels to their former glory after wearing them during a night when i had a little too much fun 😅 i thought i wouldnt be able to wear them again!
Omnidaim, arguably one of the best suede cleaners in existance requires you to mix it with water. You are definatly supposed tobuse water. Just make sure it dries the right way.
You can also use an eraser to revive sandpaper. It gets all the gunk out from between the grain. (Makes it last like 10x longer) Also useful for nail files / regular files I have a small amount of the cheapest erasers I could find - (they're like 3 for 0,99) - specifically for cleaning purposes. (They're not the best for drawing, but for cleaning they work fine)
Yesterday I found out of you get a drop of glue or thee like on them, you slice it off with a serrated knife then use fine grit sandpaper to pull up the fibers that were under the glue and make the surroundings level. Ended up looking like new, which was better than I expected.
You really don’t want stiff fibers for a suede brush. Horse hair brushes are recommended, and really not that stiff. Boars hair would work, too, but that’s a bit too stiff.
The nail file is a bad idea unless you know its solid.leather. most leather shoes these days are bonded leather. The nail file would ruin them. Expensive shoes deserve quality products to maintain and clean them.
