Do you prefer smooth leather or suede leather? I prefer smooth due to its durability and longevity. Let me know!

*For deep cleaning suede and nubuck dirtier spots, Saphir Omnidaim is also recommended. You use a small container of water (doesn't need to be filled all the way). Then you poor in a little bit of the Saphir product. Mix it together until its bubbly. I recommend using a round horsehair daub brush instead of the brush that comes with it (the bristles fall out a bit). I tried the Saphir Omnidaim on a pair of suede boots Inown, and the look really improved! Then for the inside of the boots use shoe trees or stuff with paper towels or newspaper for drying. After it dries, you use a suede/nubuck brush to fix the nap of the material. You can also use a suede/nubuck eraser for additional cleaning too if you'd like! Overall it did a great job! My boots remained soft as well! There's other brands of suede/nubuck cleaners out there. Ones that use water, and others where you don't use water and it's foam in a bottle.* *Again, I used it because my boots had some damage from being in the snow and walking on salt treated concrete. It's good for many stains! I've seen someone on RU-vid clean out a wine stain too! So it can clean shoes that have all sorts of levels of staining. I do believe there are certain cases where there might be stain we can't remove. That happens of course. Anywho, I wanted to let people know that there are suede/nubuck cleaning products that do use water and we don't have to be afraid of them. Be sure to read the reviews, and you'll hopefully be ok with whichever brand you pick out.* *Great video overall! The suede eraser works wonders for sure! It helped me a lot with my own suede shoes and my boots that have nubuck! In fact it removed a lot of work for me, so that I spent less time scrubbing my boots.*

Thank you so much for your contribution. I am familiar with Saphir Omnidaim, though I've never personally used it. It seems to work well, but is definitely the premium $$$ choice when it comes to suede care. If it's what you need, it's a great choice. Appreciate your time, friend!

is your suede getting stiff after washing with water?
@evumies
@evumies 3 месяца назад
Hahaha. Oops! Don't fear, if you've done this, you can still recover somewhat! You'll want to get some suede conditioner (mink oil spray or other), and a suede brush. Use both appropriately according to the instructions and this will bring the supple and soft feel back to your suede for the most part. Let me know how it turns out! Ok, so how do you clean the mesh part of the sneaker without trying to wet the suede part?
@evumies
@evumies Месяц назад
@@mprm247 Great question. I'd suggest putting an absorbent cloth inside the shoes to absorb any excess moisture and very gently use a small brush (like a toothbrush) to scrub the mesh. You can do it slowly and carefully. At the end of the day, don't fret too much about getting your suede wet, it's not the end of the world. Just note that you can potentially cause water spots on your leather. To fix water spots, you'll have to dampen the entire suede with water, just don't soak it. After it's dry, you can brush the suede back to the original texture. I hope this helps. All advice is at your own risk since I don't know your exact situation. All the best!

Hello, great video! I have an additional question, how do you clean the fabric between the suede leather parts? Any tips for this?
@evumies
@evumies 3 месяца назад
Hey friend! Thanks so much for watching. That's a great question. An answer I should have covered in the video. When it comes to the mesh, you can try to spot clean with a microfiber cloth. Make sure to put an absorbent towel underneath (inside the shoe) in order to catch the liquid so it doesn't bleed into the suede. Simply add some cleaner to the cloth and gently rub the soiled mesh area. Repeat as necessary and then finally with some fresh water to remove the cleaner. This is what I'd suggest! Hope that helps! Let me know how it turns out.

Is there a difference between suede erasers and normal erasers? A couple weeks ago I used a regular eraser on white suede but it left a dark mark and now I'm not sure if I can fix it. Could a suede eraser fix it? Thanks!
@evumies
@evumies 7 месяцев назад
What a great question! Yes, there is a difference. Many normal erasers are colored and will rub off their color onto the suede. In essence, they do a similar function, but with suede erasers, they add grittiness that acts like micro sandpaper that allows the eraser to better remove marks and dirt from suede. However, you can get similar results depending on the issue. Just know that a normal eraser may actually rub in the dirt or mark more, whereas the specially formed suede eraser's goal is to remove it more thoroughly.

Hello, I cleaned my shoes with the angelus brand eraser but there were some scratches left from the eraser and they faded a little, the color is navy blue, do you know if it is possible to remedy it? thank you
@evumies
@evumies Месяц назад
Hey friend! This may have occurred because you pressed too hard. But don't worry! If there's some fading, all you need to do is condition your suede. Adding suede conditioner (oil) to the leather will bring back the natural pigment. Be careful. You can't use regular leather conditioner, you'll need to buy a mink oil spray and use suede only conditioners. You should be conditioning your suede anyways whether you have fading or not. This will make your leather last for years to come. Check out my kit.co/evumies for my suggestions on suede sprays. I'd suggest Angelus Mink Oil Spray. Also, you'll want to properly brush you suede to bring back the nap. Either get a harder bristle brush or a suede brush. Again, check out my kit.co/evumies for tools. Let me know if you need any help!

My shoes got splashed with some droplets of sauce from someone dropping one what’s a good way to remove the sticky dots? I teach maybe white vinegar?
@evumies
@evumies Месяц назад
Hey Braeden. Glad you found this video. It really depends. What's the sauce made from? Like a tomato sauce? Red? Do this at your own risk. I'd first let the sauce dry, the take a knife or razor blade edge and scrape off as much of the excess sauce or debris off of the suede. From there, I'd first try using a suede eraser to see if you can remove more dried sauce from the suede. If that still doesn't work, I'd purchase a proper suede cleaner and follow the instructions. You may have to clean the entire panel of leather otherwise you may have moisture spots. If you need to clean the area more than once, go for it. After this dries, your suede will probably be stiff, so brush it off good with a suede brush. If it's still stiff, you may need to rinse it again to get any excess cleaner off. Let dry and then brush it again. If it's still not the same texture, you may want to spray it with some mink oil spray and then brush it again. All the best. Check out my suggestions from here: kit.co/evumies

can I tumble dry my Nike Cortez after they've been wet from the rain (they have suede on just the tip and the heel part of the shoe, rest all is nylon I guess) ?
@evumies
@evumies 16 дней назад
Hey friend. My opinion, never use a dryer. Tumble drying your shoes can ruin the suede because the heat can warp and shrink the fabric and suede. If anything, tumble dry with NO or LOW heat only. But highly suggest just air dry in not direct sunlight. All the best.

Hm. Not sure. Do you have Amazon? If not, you can go to a cobbler or leather craft store and they should have the erasers there. If you can't find them, you can use neutral colored generic erasers, but they just won't be as effective. All the best.

Can i still save my shoes if i washed them with water (i let the water soak in yesterday) if so what do i use?
@evumies
@evumies 11 дней назад
Ooo. That's tricky. First of all, it wasn't the best idea to soak them in water, but yeah, we already know that at this point. You still may be able to save your suede shoes. We need some more information to take the best route. #1, why did you soak them in water? Due to mark or stain? Did you get that out? #2, if you used any type of cleaner or soap, you need to make sure that you thoroughly rinse the leather as much as possible before drying. #3, once you take the shoes out of the water, you should use a towel to pat dry as much excess water from the suede, making sure that the leather doesn't remain wet. If it does, it may begin to decompose or mold. Do your best to get as MUCH water out as you can WITHOUT using any heat or hair dryer. #4, don't put them in direct sunlight to dry. I'd suggest using a fan (no heat whatsoever) or putting them outside in indirect light to air dry (again, after removing as much excess moisture as possible). #5, make sure to put either paper (no newspaper because ink can transfer onto the leather), or some rags or small towels that will absorb the water out of the shoes as it air dries. From there, you'll want to remove those rags or paper insert periodically so that you can continue to drain out the moisture. After it's fully dry, (THIS IS THE MOST IMPORTANT PART), you need to rehydrate your leather. If it's suede, you should use a suede conditioner or conditioning spray like mink oil. You will then need to brush the suede nap back to it's texture with a suede brush. This is what I'd suggest. No guarantees, but it should help. I hope for the best! Let me know if it helps!

Can I used normal eraser?!
@evumies
@evumies Месяц назад
Hey friend! Thanks so much for watching. Unfortunately, suede erasers are specifically formulated for suede where regular erasers are formulated for pencil lead. Many other erasers are colored and will rub off their color onto your suede, so you have to be careful. I wouldn't suggest it, but you can try a clear or neutral regular eraser if you want at your own risk! Hope this helps.

Wait so the regular eraser does not work on cleaning suede shoes?
@evumies
@evumies 16 дней назад
Thanks so much for watching. Regular erasers are made for things like graphite pencils, not suede fibers. Colored erasers like the famous pink eraser will often rub off its color onto your suede and potentially ruin the color. It's not that they don't "work" eventually, but they're not effective because they're not abrasive enough. To me, it's not worth it. Suede erasers often have more grit and are able to remove deep marks and dirt. I hope that helps!

@evumies
@evumies 3 месяца назад
Hey bro. I appreciate the comment. Though, unfortunately they're not the same. Many other "regular" erasers can actually ruin your suede. If you have a colored eraser, it can also completely discolor your leather by rubbing off onto it. Please be careful. Again, suede erasers are literally made from different materials and provide more sand-paper like qualities specifically for suede. Please take my advice, since I've ruined very nice suede in the past. All the best, bro.
