Gosh I was on the fence for offset pellet or Cabinet smoker and you brought up good point on the raised expanded steel. Almost better off biting bullet and upgrading either of them to the 304 stainless grates but those are super pricey but then again... longer lasting and faster cleaning when time is money.. hmmmmm. Keep videos on the LSG coming... I've been binge watching yer channel now :)
LOL... yeah man I too am learning through doing. If I knew then what I know now I might have opted for the stainless shelves as well. I am going to be looking into getting someone local to make stainless shelves for me if they are too expensive I'll remake flat expanded shelves myself. I might also look into stainless expanded. Why yes I am thinking out loud and writing these ideas down. LOL. Either way when you order let them know it was my videos that sent you that way. Thanks for watching and feel free to comment on old videos too!
@@SDSBBQs Will do... Ricer gets a lil blame also for changing my gears from one brand to another. But LSG looks like thee way to go. I've always been tempted to do what you are doing in the side for weekend food hustle. Its fun cooking and nice to get complimented and rewarded along the way. My fear is it might become too much like work and not fun as I have way too many hobbies and interests now.
I feel attacked... I too have too many hobbies. But just as you said this one is a VERY rewarding one. The best hobbies are ones that make you a little money and stop costing you money.
Pauline is a great name.... and yes Grandma's are always gentle and easy especially with their grandkids lol 😂 not so much with their own kids though at least that's what I have been told by my mum when I was a little kid .....may both of them R.I.P 🙏🏽☝️
LOL. I totally agree. I heard horror stories about my grand parents, as parents from my parents. But yeah they softened as they got older I guess. Thanks man for watching and commenting.
Yes finally someone mentioned flat expanded grates it is way easier to clean than raised expanded so when I order my pellet grill from Chris I will be asking for flat grate
I have and I'm torn. It's plenty thick and will last for quite a while as compared to the shield in my Traeger that I do foil. Maybe I'll wrap it for a.few cooks to test if you should or not. Thanks for the suggestion.
Great name Dash . So I have one MAJOR issue with my LSG.....I'm too short, can't open the lid . I never should of upgraded to the 8 inch wheels , Had to order a stool from Amazon , hopefully that'll give me the height to open the lid , smh
@patriciamattie4732 Seriously Sell it and get the cabinet pellet! It will sell super quick for someone to get out of the waiting line. Get in line for the pellet and sell yours when you get your fabrication email. Trust me it will sell. I was willing to pay $1000 over asking and drive 12 hrs, each way, to Memphis to grab a gorgeous 42. Missed it by an hour or so. Would have saved me 12 weeks in line. Money well spent.
@@SDSBBQs Might be good to mention re-seasoning the areas you just cleaned. The metal on metal of the scraper and shovel can damage the seasoning, always good to re-season just to be safe.
You need to reseason after a clean like that. Canola, or avocado oil…. FYI, you can also use water/vinegar (70/30 mix) to EASILY super clean those grates and grill. Heat grill to 400 for 15 min and use a grill brush or sponge (dip in the water mixture) and let the steam work its magic. Just don’t inhale…. Then reseason….. you won’t be worried about those grates now…. Too easy and quick
