Randy R yep! All that soot can insulate the sensor and give false readings or delayed readings! I’m glad you liked the video, thanks for watching!

That seems to be super popular anymore.. It is distracting. Same with the video effects and quick cuts.

I vote no distracting "music". Know it's a "thing" now on YT now but I have to leave a lot of videos early, drives me crazy too. However, I do like the fast forwarding through the slow parts. Nothing more boring that watching somebody putting in a bunch of screws - Zzzzz.

Probably should have shown how you "re season" the inside. There was a lot of bare metal showing that can rust my friend. Thank you for showing how this is done. Smoke on!!
@MrBigKid

Good to know! There is definitely some rust in there, but nothing pitting or corroded. Thanks for the tip!

I do not own a pellet grill but would love to have one. Does the dust get on your food if you do't clean it often?
@MrBigKid
@MrBigKid 5 лет назад
View to a grill not that I have noticed! I’ve actually gone pretty long without cleaning and haven’t noticed and dust on the food or performance issues :)

I think a safe bet would be, there are not a lot of BBQ Grill cleaning videos out there. Of course people are going to say "I clean my grill" LOL. No they Don't. Very cool man.
@MrBigKid
@MrBigKid 5 лет назад
Lol, it’s definitely important with the pellet grills! I have seen some horror stories of the pellets in the auger catching fire and lighting the firebox on fire. Any way to mitigate a risk is definitely worth it! Thanks for watching brother!

When cleaning the grates, do you use any decreases etc to the them clean. Besides scrapping off the food and vacuum shop it.
@MrBigKid
@MrBigKid 4 года назад
No sir! I just scrape it clean. I try and do a burn-off after a messy cook to degrease.

Is that a giant razor blade you are using to clean the heat shields? What do you recommend I get? Thank you

I found that an easy way to remind how long I’m cooking is to use an app. A new one came out that works well for me called pellet grill minder.

Ever thought about wrapping the shields in aluminum foil? I wonder if it would make it easier to clean?
@MrBigKid
@MrBigKid 4 года назад
My dad actually does that with his traeger. I probably will give it a try!

I do this all the time...use the heavy duty aluminum foil and it works like a charm to clean.

Anyone tried graphite spray on heat sensors and such? I sprayed my kitchen oven racks - you can slide them in/out with a hot heavy load with one finger. Bet this would work to keep the internals clean on the grill too.

Is any of those internal cook area parts made of 304 SS?

What cleaner did you use for the sensors>

I used a generic stainless steel cleaner. It seemed to work pretty well, just had to make sure no oil or residue was left!
