How to clean the tone holes (taking keys off and on)

If playing up to pitch has been an issue lately cleaning the tone holes can help a ton! Taking keys off the oboe can seem daunting but it doesnt have to be. I guide you through the process step by step in what is hopefully a painless process. Getting to our favorite oboe techs during quarantine can be a challenge, but I hope that this gets you though at least a while with an oboe that feels great to play. Let me know how it goes for you!

Excellent video. I have two tiny suggestions. 1. You need to use plyers that are smooth on the inside. You can damage the screw with regular plyers (ask me how I know🤔) 2. Get "tech swabs" that are not made from loose fiber. You can get them from the giant-South-American-river for a few dollars. Tech swabs allow you to clean the small tone holes all the way into the bore.

Danny: This is an excellent video. I agree with Michelle Jones; I was definitely taken into another dimension - it was amazing and educational. I had a panic attack when you started taking the keys off your beautiful oboe! :-)

my notes below my C are still very flat. how can i fix that after i’ve cleaned the tone holes?
