Pretty Boy Rob is back for another episode of Shoe Care Academy! This week he shows us how to clean the Black Nike Dunk Low X Undefeated '5 On It'. This shoe is comprised of a Durabuck upper with matching suede overlays and Swooshes. As Pretty Boy points out, the ‘5 On It’ actually uses 5 different materials! Undefeated's signature tally mark is present on the heels and each woven tongue label, but the dark blue, semi-translucent outsole might be our favorite part of the shoe.
For this cleaning, Rob is armed with a RESHOEVN8R Dry Suede Kit, Essential Kit, and some Mink Oil. First things first, remove those laces and insert your shoe tree! The shoe tree will allow for added pressure when washing the toe box, and can even help reshape the shoe during the cleaning process. Two squirts of solution into our bowl of water and we’re ready to rock! Rob broke out the soft bristle brush to break down the dirt and grime on the uppers, the medium bristle for the midsole, and the stiff bristle for the icy outsole!
As suede likes to do, the material became crunchy after drying, so PBR reset the nap using the dry suede brush. BAM! Back to buttery texture! Rob did notice a bit of discoloration, a common issue when suede gets oversaturated, but have no fear, RESHOEVN8R Mink Oil is here. After a few coats and a light brush with the soft bristle, the black suede was as good as new! Tell us what you think about these kicks... would you rock them?
