Not according to my wife. You can put anything in there and it will magically turn it to liquid and make it disappear. I swear people think pipes are magic
i rinse everything before going in the dishwasher (we do have a garbage disposal, and also septic so we need to be extra careful with grease). The dishwasher filter still needs to be cleaned, but probably doesn't get to this state quite as fast.
that jelly stuff isn't mold, but a byproduct of detergent and hard water compounds (iron, calcium etc) . Still don't want to eat it on my dishes though! lol
You literally have my exact same model! Thanks for the info on how to take the coarse filter off. I didn't know you had to pull up. I just cleaned the fine filter by hand and I'm now running a bottle of dishwasher cleaner through it on the hottest setting. (I'll go back and scrub the coarse one after it's done.) As someone who's not used to living with a dishwasher having this thing now is such a privilege!
That thing was totally plugged! Sure as heck wasn’t getting enough pressure to clean anything that’s for sure. That’s why you have to really watch what goes into these newer style machines
You originally thought the filter for your device was on the door…? Why? It would have to be at the drain point of the dishwasher which would always be the bottom
i have a Maytag that requires tools in order to get the filter out and clean it. If you can find the model number of your dishwasher, look for a video or Google for an instruction manual that should have instructions for cleaning the filter. ♥️
