How to Clean Your Thottle Body (Subaru Impreza) 

Thanks a ton for this video. A buddy of mine laid put exactly how to do everything, but I'm a much better watch-and-do/visual learner so this really helped me out. Hopefully this will solve my rough starts and idles.

followed the same steps, but forget to plug in one socket and the car warning lights was on while starting the car, plug it back and the car running very smooth, and the engine warning light was off again, thank you for your video, saving me some money.

Thank you for your excellent video. I have a 2013 Impreza. What are the benefits of doing this/ or the signs I should do it? I’m planning to clean the MAF, got a kit with MAF cleaner and throttle body cleaner.

Amigo, tengo un Impreza 09 no turbo, el carro se me apaga cuando freno, pero vuelve a encender normal, esos cuando freno rápido y en los stop, le hice limpieza del trhottle body y el problema sigue, le cambie filtro de combustible,sensor maf, bujías y sigue igual y le han puesto el scanner y no arroja código ni check engine, nose cual es el problema y he gastado mucho. Y siempre se apaga, tus videos me han ayudado mucho, gracias

Very informative video, thanks. I'm having a similar problem and may be trying this in the very near future. Tell me if you think I'm on the right track. I have an 09 Forester XT. I'm flipping the 171 code but only when I drive in speeds in excess of 80 miles an hour. If I drive steady 80 for more than 5 minutes it flips to code. If I reset the code and keep it under 80 it will never go off again. Until the next time I go above 80. A little bit of Internet research seems to indicate that it could be because of the mass air flow sensor or perhaps clogged fuel filters keeping the fuel pressure too low. Since it seems easier place to start with the mass airflow that's where I was going. It seems that a lot of people do throttle body and mass airflow sensors at the same time so I was going to give that a go if you think it seems necessary. Car has 110000 miles. What do you think?

When installing a new gasket on the throttle body - do you need some sort of sealant as well?? or do you just wipe the surface clean & install the gasket itself.

Good video, but I think it'd be helpful to redo the narration and do a lot more talking about what you're doing at each step.

Why did you use the pinch pliers on that one hose going to the throttle body? Is that necessary? I've never done this before so just curious.
