I think David will be very happy with the plot once he returns to the UK. Thanks for watching ko-fi.com/diggingfordinner / diggingfordinner / diggingfordinner
Just stumbled across this video after starting to clear my very busy, overly neglected garden. I'm very impressed that you were happy to help David out in that way, many people wouldn't even consider doing such work without being paid some money. It looks good too, well done!!!
Can I just say what an amazing job you did for your fellow plot holder I wish I had people like that at my allotment site I could use someone like you lol keep up the great work 👍🏻 well done to you wish there were more people like you
awesome Joe !! your a machine buddy !! ever ready to help !! so if you ever get to my neck of the wood there's always loads to do lol !! thanks for sharing
There was lots of good stuff on there. I think I spotted a mature artichoke? Good that you mention checking what you've got. If you're not experienced, well worth confirming with fellow plot holders to make sure you're not chucking stuff worth keeping or donating. Imagine throwing away £100 worth of flower tubers or digging up a mature artichoke or asparagus The HORROR! 😮😮
Cardboard and newspaper is a great way to help keep the weeds down. Pumpkin squash potatoes tomatos and courgette are good plants to use to suppress the weeds through the main season of growth.
What would be the mechanical equivalent tool for de-weeding and clearing a new, messy allotment joe? Iv just out my name down for an allotment, and doing some research. Thinking I would like to clear the whole space, out some raised beds in then keep the rest of the space clear for easier maintenance.
Any idea what those tall shoot things are? I am currently helping my mate on his allotment, there are some on there and the roots are terrible. It's like wood.
You mentioned you needed garotta for your compost pile. I know you a fan of wilkinson from previous videos so may already know this but in my local wilko store just a few days ago I purchased boxes of garotta for half price in the end of range reductions. As well as loads of other stuff. All sold out online but some still available in stores. Nice work by the way
Chris Mellor could have sworn I replied to you on this, sorry my bad. I did go into wilko after reading your comment and they had it but it was £5 still, my local wilko refuse to reduce the garden products as everyone seems to get reductions but me lol thanks though I very much appreciated you telling me. Cheers
Hi apologies as I may sound silly. You said David would cover the ground but why would/should he do it if you have already dug the ground and uprooted the weeds? Is this something should be done after digging? And how long you cver it for?
Please come and do mine! Ill pay you in kind! ;) And if im not ur type then im sure i can rope in a friends help haha Joking aside, well done! My new allotment is horrendous, and i dont know where to start. (What makes it worse is, i was half hour late to be able to choose a different plot which had a shed a greenhouse and hardly any weeds! Typically my bad luck!
