I'm glad I found this channel, especially this video, because I've been preparing to simplify my life for a long time, but it was hard to get started. I didn't know how to let things go. Thanks for your help in this video. I looked at it with a translator and I write with a translator, I hope it is understandable. Blessings from Austria

Quality over Quantity. Is this adding to the quality of my life? Purses are a good example to demonstrate and explain this. I've collected many purses over the years. I'll use this concept for decision-making for my purses, then other things. Thanks. 💙

Great video Kelly! It's funny... I'm looking at 4 backpacks on my living room floor while I'm writing this post. I literally go out of my way to make sure I use each bag, just so I can feel justified in keeping them all. The truth is, I only need one of them. I have to get tough with myself and learn to let go.

***** Thanks for the feedback - I always appreciate it! Letting go is a challenge. You can do it in baby steps...let go bit by bit. Though it actually sounds like you have it pretty well under control - good for you!

Thank goodness I found you! I am in the process of packing for a north to south move and you have helped me release a lot of stuff. Hopefully, this will stick with me when I get to my craft room! Thanks so much! Keep up the great work!!

I have so many great quality pieces and if I had a normal closet size I’d be fine. I have a 2019 life sharing a tiny 1950s closet with my partner. I do not have a bigger closet at this point so I have such a hard time letting go of good things that I love and would use if I could access them all easily.

That's a real challenge. I know what lack of closet space feels like, I'm in a pre 1900's home and closets definitely weren't a thing then. I encourage people to get creative with their spaces. I have no idea what your home looks like, but do you have an underutilized area that you could re-purpose and claim for your wardrobe? I once had a photographer re-purpose the kitchen pantry for camera storage since she didn't really cook. In any event, I feel for you. What you have doesn't sound like clutter, it sounds like stuff you truly love and would use. Do you have any close by friend or family you could "rent" closet space from? At least then you could swap clothing in and out so you could enjoy it. I'd encourage you to think about the life you imagine leading over the next few years. Would it be worth it to look for storage solutions, or would it better to let go of what you don't have room for? The latter might relieve you of the burden of wishing for more space. I don't know the right answer for you, but I do know we all tend to accept new situations much better than we anticipate we will. By that I mean letting go will sting for the moment, but the sadness/sense of loss might be short lived. Good luck! And thanks for sharing.

Sitting in front of stacks of materials falling over next to another big stack of the same and not put together in any kind of visually appealing way... Not anyone whose advice I'd follow.
